Why is it that liberals don't like World War II being brought up in debate, and only like using the Vietnam War in debate?
It is because of this:
World War II proved liberal theory wrong for all the world to see. Chamberlain's Liberal attitude was, "Let's do what Hitler wants, then he will like us and there will be peace in our time." Conservatives like Churchill said that Hitler had to be stopped - NOW - or else he might take over Europe, then the world.
The Liberals had their way then. A year later, Hitler was walking over Europe. But, Conservatives willing to stand up to evil defeated Hitler six years later.
In Vietnam, the Liberals had their way again. Unfortunately, instead of preventing a war, this time it meant the Vietnam War ended in defeat for the US (even though victory was possible, had the public supported it). Even though millions are still enslaved by communism there, the Liberals ignore it.
So that's why Liberals like Vietnam but not World War II.
