I don't think they are necessarily heros; they were just following orders which is what they signed up for.

So when our husbands, sons and friends go to war and don't return home we should not consider them hero's. Or when they do finally get to come home and stop leaving our homes every six month or even longer there not hero's. During the time they have left how many attacks have we had here in the US that were completely successful. There all hero's no matter what the outcome. You want to be a so called American and not stand up for our troops. You would not last a day in the boots of a soldier.

Because they ARE heroes. They fight for and protect our rights and freedoms every day. Because unlike you, they have honor and respect. They deserve that and a whole lot more.
Only people like you believe the war in Iraq will be lost. The rest of us, think for ourselves and don't believe the biased propaganda on tv and in the papers. We live with the military and talk to them. We know that we're doing good over there. We know we're rebuilding the country and giving them some of the same freedoms that we as Americans have. However, you hide behind your puter in shame every day. You get enjoyment out of trying to make others feel the same way. Respect and honor are something that you'll never know. It's a war you'll never understand because you believe CNN and hang out at the local Big Boy harassing people.

one thing that very often gets forgotten when talking about the Iraq war is that a lot of people who are over there now did not intend on it. I know an individual who signed up with the national guard so that he could go to college. even after his time was up, he got recalled and is now back in Iraq. Don't be one of those people who blames the troops when they had nothing to do with Bush's decision to go to war.
I know plenty of people who got roped into going to Iraq simply because they could not afford college.
The other thing you need to remember is that the only thing we know about Iraq is what the media shows us. I encourage you to take the opportunity to talk to returning veterans. Obviously there will be different reports from soldiers who have varying MOS's but I have talked to plenty soldiers who actually report that some of the civilians are glad that we are there. Its all about getting the real story from people who were actually there.

Such foolishness. I disagree with the war myself but those troopers are there fighting because of a belief that they are protecting their families, and for that matter me and my family. They are there for noble reasons (at least as far as their own are concerned, though I'm not entirely sure about the government's intentions) and so they are heroes whether or not this war is won or lost.
And for the record it is already won. Saddam has no weapons of mass destruction, and he is out of power; which cover the first two goals of this war. And the Iraqi people got to choose what they wanted. That their choice of civil war is not the choice we wanted them to make doesn't change the fact that they did make the choice and so democracy occurred, thus accomplishing our third goal. So on top of being heroes they were successful, even if Bush refuses to see it.

I can't beleive anyone would ask this question. How dare you! It's not the Troops fault were at war. They have a job and were called to do it! The war won't be lost unless we let it! The troops in Iraq have died for US for our Country for You and me to have freedom. I am and will treat the Troops with great respect. Me and you have no idea what the troops go through overseas. Try talking to someone who has been there...I've heard if we wern't in Iraq fighting the war would be here! (According to a Soilder). My brother is a Dr. in the US Navy and will deploy in March to Iraq, and he has worked hard in Afganistan to do his job. It's not easy being overseas with no family they get lonely they get scared their human beings they in my opinion deserve a lot of respect! The people that have served our country in war shall never be forgotten!!!!!!!
How dare you!

Our troops are hero's. Try spending months away from your family, home and everything dear to you. Couple that with bad living conditions, dangerous situations, low pay and men dressed up like women trying to blow them up. Miss your grandmothers funeral, birth of your child and your daughters 3rd birthday, christmas, your anniversary and have to listen to an american media that does not show ONE good thing our soldiers do. Now do all that without complaining and you have one true american Hero! God Bless our troops!

I do not think the war will be lost unless we give up an pull out before the job is done. The brave men and women are heros regarless of the outcome. I consider the firemen and policemen that lost thier lives on 9/11/01 to be heros and noone won anything that day.

The Korean warfare became not so customary because it began almost on the instantaneous on the right of international warfare II. a similar situation ought to nicely be painted for the Vietnam warfare, which became faraway from mandatory help and popularity contained in the U.S.
