Three-step Plan:
1. Strictly require the papers that show immigrants are legally here for them to enroll in school or use our health care. If they come to the emergency room, give them the medical aid, but if they cannot show their papers, they are reported and detained.
2. Create a program that allows a broader amount of immigrants to come here legally. This program would allow a trial period (that is relatively easy to obtain) in the US. To stay in the US, they would have to be involved in education programs that would teach them skills that would benefit our economy and society (say in vocations we have shortages in), they would have to show themselves to be law-abiding and peaceful, and they would not be allowed to have children until the trial period is over.
3. Offer this trial period to all illegals in the US that have not committed crimes or such, making it available to all, but fair and firm. After they have all had a chance, start deporting.

OK, and for the illegal employment aspect, put the same strict requirements on all employers: that they can only hire immigrants that are working with the program. And ENFORCE it.

Guys, if we don't offer any kind of amnesty (allowing illegals to do the trial period), neither our employers nor the mexicans will work with us, and it will cost us trillions to find, deport, and re-deport the illegals. Do you want to spend that much money on them? If they do the trial period and fail, we know where they are to deport them; and employers will work with the program because they can still use those immigrants that are trying to become good citizens.

ILLEGAL immigrants COST the USA $$BILLIONS ANNUALLY! We would SAVE to deport them. It would cost LESS to deport and save more in the long run.
We do NOT need more immigrants. We need to REDUCE the number of immigrants coming here.
It isn't just illegal immigration, it's all immigration that adds to our population. If we could just reduce it, not stop it, just reduce it, we could leave a better country for our children, our grandchildren and the future generations of all the people of the USA including immigrants. What good would our country do anyone if we succumb to overpopulation, polluted water and air, continued urban sprawl growth, development encroaching into our farmlands, our forests, depletion of our forests faster than we can replenish them, inability to build schools fast enough, inability to build enough water sanitation stations to supply clean water for the huge population, inability to build highways fast enough to prevent severe traffic congestion, what good would we do anyone? None!
We must take care of the people we have NOW and allow fewer people to immigrate. Our first priority are the people here now. It is not the responsibilty of the USA to destroy itself trying to save the worlds poor, when there will always be more poor than our country's federal funds could EVER save. The only way to save impoverished countries is IN those countries. We can't move them all here.

I just wish people would think about it. We can't kill the USA trying to save the worlds poor.

The estimated cost of deportation was placed at between $ 218 and $230 billion. That amount would be saved in less than 5 years do to the reduction in illegal aliens using programs and resources. But before deportation would be considered the borders must be secured to prevent reentry. If a mass deportation order was given,a lot of (they think 50% )would leave voluntarily. So that reduces the number right there .So we are not dealing with as many as you think. Also a huge percentage of the illegals are children under the age of 17.Deportation is possible and do able but the borders must be sealed to prevent turn around reentry..One major thing that also must be done is the absolute zero tolerance enforcement of employers that hire illegals. They must be made to feel the high cost of so called "cheap labor"
I do not feel that increasing our numbers of legal immigrants should be done.We need to place a 10 year moratorium on all immigration until the illegal alien problem is solved.
Any amnesty must be looked at one by one basis only. Some are worthy of amnesty, many are not.
Any blanket amnesty would spell disorder and chaos
to this nation.
I cant say I agree with you because I don't think medical treatment should be with held to those that need it.

each state desires to enact regulations like Oklahoma and Arizona. that's the only the federal government will ever take proactive steps. most of the Senators and Congressmen spend the majority of their time counting votes and money for their next election, one among those good variety of, who're the two based on the votes or marketing campaign money, or the two, from this issue, extremely can not see it as a issue. for the reason that maximum illegals are from worldwide places south of our border, the votes will continually be a entice to Democrat professional-amnesty politicians, however the money could be dried up via making it too costly or impossible for American agencies to hire them with out risking the shortcoming of each little thing they own. Then a minimum of the Republicans and Independents could turn anti-amnesty or perhaps anti-unlawful. good now, there is extraordinarily much no person in Washington taking this heavily, different than those attempting to push amnesty by way of. it is going to take plenty longer, yet could have a extra lasting effect, if sufficient states carry on with the Oklahoma and Arizona lead.

Reporting people after they seek health care would cause them not to seek health care, and that would be a problem for society - we can't have people going around spreading diseases, and dying who knows where, etc.
Certainly, blaming people for trying to earn money somehow is not a good idea, and yet opening our borders to whatever whenever is also not a good idea.
The core of the illegal immigrant problem is Mexico itself - it is one of the richest countries south of our border, yet about 1% of the people have huge sums of money, there is only a tiny middle class, and the rest is poverty-stricken. Here in the US, the picture is similar, but the wealth is a great deal more equitably distributed, following a bell curve more closely.
So regulation of the immigrant labor force is a good idea. In general, people should be allowed to come here, with documents, to work, and go home when they are done with the lettuce picking and lawn mowing. And we should put pressure on Mexico to clean up its act, even spend money on that, to create jobs and distribute their resources better so Mexicans can stay home - and we should not have too many scruples about whether any methods they use are "socialist" or "leftist" so long as the result is better conditions that encourage Mexican to stay home.

I'm not really convinced that the immigration "problem" is actually such a problem. I have never had trouble getting a job because an "illegal" immigrant got it instead. Also they do pay taxes and contribute to the economy. As I remember this whole issue was a republican scam to put some other political issue on the table besides the stupid iraq war and the various criminal scandals that were going on. I think ending the war, and bringing down health care costs should be more important right now.

This is not a "plan". This is ludicrous.
WHO will check "papers"? Until local agencies are given the authority to enforce the law, no one has the legal right to even ASK if someone is here legally. That authority has to be given first. It's why an increasing number of towns across the US are taking matters into their own hands.
Where is the money going to come from to put these non-English speaking illegal aliens into "educational programs"? When even AMERICAN students can't afford to go to college, because of sky-high tuition costs and severely slashed tuition funding?! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!
"Not allowed to have children"?!? This may be the most insane comment of all. How do you propose "we" stop people from having children? Are "we" going to force-feed birth control pills down their throats? Or maybe force all the men to have vasectomies (reversible ones, of course). Who will pay for that? When even American citizens don't have health care?!?
DEPORT FIRST. Play nicey-nice later. When even American taxpayers aren't eligible for the kinds of social programs you are talking about, it's insane to offer them to people who broke the law by sneaking in. Don't even bother tweaking this "plan". Scrap it completely until you have come to your senses. Yikes, buddy!

My biggest question on all your points is who pays for all this? You didn't say who pays for the schooling or the medical aid you mention. As for the 'start deporting', this costs money too, the government knows roughly how many illegals are here, do you not think if they wanted rid of them all they'd be gone already? The point about 'not being allowed to have children' is a bit militant is it not? Kind of encroaches on the freedom or civil liberties which this country values...

The first 2 are good, but no we will not offer amnesty to the criminals, what example is that for all the real immigrants that are taking years to do it the right way? Come here in huge numbers and the Americans will ignore the law you are breaking

#1 is a good idea but, any illagal would simply die on the street instead of going to the emergency room.
#2 is also a good idea but keeping track of all of them would be next to impossible. The mexicans that work in the feilds go from farm to farm
#3 The whole thing won't work because it would require people to be honest. The politicians would get in the middle and make it even worse

Well that makes sense to me. BUT don't forget it is not just MEXICANS that immigrate illegally. DO NOT FORGET the koreans that hide away on cargo ships, or the germans that overstay their visas. If they prove that they are law-abiding and productive people in this country then by all means. But that should include only the people that are here in this country NOW. Otherwise you are encouraging more and more illegal immigration.
