Do you think that the Soviet Union may re-form sometime in the future? I overheard a rumor that Russian President Vladamir Putin is actually in favor of this happening! And that Russian spy who was poisoned supposedly had information about Russia. I think they said before he died he told some people that Russia was a threat to the world. And now that Russia is helping Iran; it does seem likely that Russia is a backbiter of the U.S. and the U.K. To be honest, I don't think you can trust a country who is trying to help one of our enemy nations to be able to create nuclear bombs and give them weapons. I think that Russia is definately planning something! But thats my opinion. What they are planning is not quite clear, but it doesn't seem very promising for world peace thats for damn sure!

It has been said that the police are people sworn to up hold the law as their primary duty .
It is also incumbent upon each person to report crime and assist the police in the apprehension of criminals .
When the police become the adversary of 10% of the population then something is wrong with our system of laws .
I only need the police to enforce the law and not become the defenders of my freedoms .
All to often the police are arresting people who are breaking moral laws and are not criminals except that the law has made them such .
A women on a bus does not need to present Identification at the request of any officer or while walking jogging or other wise engaged in any lawful activity .
To often the police these days are beating harrasing and arresting law abiding people for simple traffic offenses and for refusing to submit to searches and requests for Identification when demanded by police .
Have we become a police state by allowing the police to act like the military .

I used "click n ship" to print out a priority mail label online going to an APO address (AE).. I was also able to fill out and print the customs form online. I could just attach it to the envelope using the clear form envelopes I have, but there's a section that says "post office copy." Isn't that why you fill it out online, so the post office will have a virtual copy, and you could just give it to your postal carrier?

I have a question for anyone in the military.

I heard a story about some..... rather interesting and unusual training that is done domesticaly. This however isnt your usual shoot in shoot out cement house on a base.

From what i hear (been a while so excuse any details), is that up in the NE (Maryland and such), there is a group of towns and civialans that take part in a mock invasion-counter attack exercise. From what i've heard a mock invasion happens and then the military or at least part of it (might be special forces) retakes the towns. I dont know if its live ammo or what.

Is this real? where does it take place?

US invaded Iraq and any Iraqi fighting US forces (to drive out the invaders) is called an insurgent and will be killed.

During the American civil war, Britain considered American freedom fighters as insurgents and tried to suppress the insurgency.

When Europeans invaded America 500 years back as immigrants, native Americans opposed them and fought against them. Should the native Americans be considered insurgents ?

Are the American freedom fighters the only legal insurgents and everyone else (of every other country) illegal ?

I was arrested at Chicago Airport ( As i was coming back from India) for being an AWOL/Deserter ( more than 30 days absent).I was held at local Chicago Police one day and next day i was sent to Fort Knox and was given OTH discharge under chapter 10 after a week.(9th Sept, 04) ..

Now my new employer needs a Certified Disposition document that can show that ( Arrest / Case) is dismissed now .

Where should i get this document ?? from chicago county or military .. any phone number or procedure info will be appreciated,,,it's urgent ... pls help...

Im a democrat and not all democrats are "evil" or dont believe in the bible.. WE BELIEVE IN WHAT IS RIGHT. we do the best we can to make a living and to succed in life but how can we when repubs are allways looking down upon us? And republicans are not bad pepole either. They just dont agree on some of the things pepole say.. It should be time for both partys to grow up and stop being immature.. maybe then you will realize that not every democrat wants to kill a baby or not evrey republican wants to take away from the poor... but my question is When are republicans and democrats going to stop all of this nonsense arguing?

Starting with Viet Nam, US Presidents have been allowed to declare war without approval of the House of Representatives. Thomas Jefferson gave the House of Representatives that power, consciously, to check the balance of power from an over-zealous President. We the people fight these wars, not the President's family. Shouldn't we demand representation on this issue?

In October, a record number of Iraqis—3,709—were killed. With a vicious cycle of sectarian violence on top of the insurgency, the idea that 20,000 more troops can do much of anything is deluded.
