Listening to Radio 4 this morning, the Police Officer controlling the scheme said that the fingerprints of offenders would be disposed after 24 hours. But what if Blair and co exploit this? They are already putting in force legislation for ID cards and fingerprints could also be used to register people..you work the rest out.

Suddenly - for almost the only time in its history - the British nation is under constant photo-scrutiny; while practically every word anyone utters is subject to serious examination and severe censorship.
No wonder most people in the UK fear that, now - thanks to Tony Bliar...! - their precious "Freedom of Speech" is a thing of the past.

why is the veil issue being politicised too much. I was made to believe that democratic, secular and the so-called free and liberal societies guaratees freedom of choice. banning the use of head gear or scarf infringies on basic human rights of choice, especially if it does not pose threat to public security.
Even though public interest supercides individual's in matters that pose threat to national security, matters that are purely based on cultural-religious beliefs and world outlook shouldn't and must not in any way curtail individuals god given and constitutionally enshrined right to choice, I believe. It seems that this is a forceful imposition one's belief and out look on the other.

I just heard on the radio that 3 under cover police were killed by a 92 year old woman before they killed her. they were doing a drug bust and apparently it was case of mistaken identity. Any police want to respond? Come on she was 92 for gosh sakes. Mistaken identity? I think not!! This happened in Georgia!!

I had to sit down recently and think about the new slogan for today's Army. Not counting the war we are currently fighting, I don't think that the change in the slogan makes the US Army seem any better. Let alone, with the way soldiers are entering nowadays. Basic Training and AIT soldiers are taking over DS' (which I think is total BS). Being more lenient on a soldier and pushing them through without passing the Army's PT standards. I'd have to say that the new slogan is just mocking what today's modern Army is becoming. I don't mean to offend anybody who currently is still serving because I myself am still serving. I would like to know what is on other peoples minds pertaining to the new slogan and their opinions on IET soldiers going through training.

A housing market bust is likely within the next few years because house price growth has been grounded in unrealistic expectations of double-digit annual rises, a report by a prominent economist and former adviser to Gordon Brown will warn on Wednesday.

"Since the time of Ben Gurion, the behavior of the Israeli regime has been Jekyll and Hyde. In the 1950s, its intelligence service, the Mossad, had agents in Egypt blow up U.S. installations to make it appear the work of Cairo, to destroy U.S. relations with the new Nasser government. During the Six Day War, Israel ordered repeated attacks on the undefended USS Liberty that killed 34 American sailors and wounded 171 and included the machine-gunning of life rafts. This massacre was neither investigated nor punished by the U.S. government in an act of national cravenness".Patrick J. Buchanan.
On July 22, 1946, Menachem Begin ordered the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. The bombing was an attack against the British government who controlled Palestine and was carried out by members of Irgun — considered a terrorist organization by the British . The hotel was the headquarters for the British Secretariat and a base for the military command. Almost 100 ppl killed.
What u think?
