He parades his left wing credentials all the time. However, the BBC would probably get rid of him if he didn't. It's a bit rich considering that he sold a publishing business recently for a few million pounds.

No-one has ever been able to pin Dimbleby's politics to a particular party; however he used to own a publishing company and refuses to recognise Trade Unions on his factory, which suggests that his sympathies do not lie with Labour!

It says a lot about his professionalism that you are asking this asking.
Like you I'm completely in the dark and that is how it should be -
he is meant to be impartial and ask probing questions regardless of political affiliation.
Long may he continue in this role.

Good point. I think there is a strong argument that political commentators shouldn't vote.
