Immigration lawyers don't tend to work for free. There's really no reason they ever should. About the only people that can immigrate here either have jobs, so they can afford to pay, or had all their paperwork straight before they got on the boat/plane/skateboard to come here, or they are illegal and there's not generally much to be done for them.

If she has the $$ to move to another country, she has the $$ to pay a lawyer to do the paperwork.

Many lawyers do pro bono, or free, work. Just look up firms on the web, and ask if they do pro bono.
