I just recieved a parking ticket for crosswalk obstruction.. my situation is that, the parking spot is between the crosswalk and a hydrant, the car is parked maybe about a foot over and into the crosswalk.. and my back is 2 inches into the yellow painting.. now the road was repaved just a little back and they moved the white crosswalk line BACK making the crosswalk wider and thus making the spot smaller..

some more details.. my car is a '04 Toyota Matrix.. and is shorter than most sedans out there.. measuring only 171.30 in length.. compared to 189.20 for the '05 Camery..

would i be able to go to court, fight it, and be dismissed?.. or do i have to cough up the $105 to pay it off..

Iraq CANNOT control/police/defend it's own country at this time. There are terrorists fighting AND their own people (Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds) are fighting each other. They NEED us to stabilize the country.

If we "cut and run" there is a REAL DANGER that Iraq will ask IRAN for help. Do you want to see that happen?

Some months ago, I heard that taxation on wages is purely voluntary, and unconstitutional. So I have been trying to find the law that says I must pay tax on my wages. I can't find any such law and even the IRS can't (or won't) tell me. I then discovered that ALL (not just some) of the money collected by the IRS from “income taxation” is handed over to the federal reserve, and NONE of it benefits Americans in any way whatever. It seems the federal reserve is not actually “federal” at all, and nor is there any “reserve” either. It is not even a government body – it’s a privately owned corporation owned by a few rich bankers, that hoodwinked the senate back in 1913, into giving them the right to issue money (which is not allowed under the constitution). Aaron Russo produced a film about the subject (freedomtofascism.com) which I found very disturbing. It shows that the US govt. has deceived everyone into thinking we MUST pay tax on wages, when in fact it is purely voluntary.

Let's say that I promised to represent, advance, and empower your expressed interests in equality, and not to advance my own agenda, being an honest and fair representative all around. That my full-time job would be looking for ways to make it easier for your voice to be heard and to have effect. That I made it so that you would never have to wait in line to vote or to do anything relating to the government (remember those long lines at the polls and at the DMV?). What would you think about that? Would you vote me into office as your representative?

Every day we read in the papers about another court case gone wrong and yet another dangerous criminal being let free.

The blame always seems to go to the "Bleeding hearts" or the "Human Rights Brigade" etc who put the rights of criminals ahead of victims etc, but who are these people? I don't know any and don't think I have actually ever met one.

Do they really exist and do they really believe in some of the crazy ideas that the media accuses them of?

My mother is in the hospital a couple hours away and I have no way to go be with her today, but she says her nurses are being mean to her- they're hardly checking in on her or anything and when she calls the nurses for help with going to the bathroom or pain medicine or anything they act rude like she's inconveniencing them. she had pretty serious surgery and can't get out of the bed by herself for at least another week and told me that last night her catheter bag sprung a leak and she had to lay in her own urine for over an hour until she finally could get someone to come help her.. my brother is on his way down there right now to see what's going on. What are our rights concerning this? can we move her to a different hospital? Would we need a lawyer?? she's on medicare..

Interested in your views on the sentence. It's of particular interest to me because it's local news. For those who would like to know, she made the allegations after having had consensual sex because she was worried she was pregnant. Story can be found at:

Almost 200 drug-addicted prisoners are to receive thousands of pounds in compensation after suing over going "cold turkey" in jails. Inmates claim the policy of stopping them taking drugs in prison amounted to "torture".The 198 inmates demanded compensation from the Home Office saying the policy was a breach of their human rights. The case was due to be heard in The High Court today but reports in the Daily Mail claim the Home Office will settle out of court. Each prisoner can now expect thousands in compensation and the legal bill could rise to millions, it is claimed.
