This is a piece of cake. If the AM hours start at 1, the PM hours start at 13. 1 PM = 13, 2 PM = 14, etc. Anything over 12, add the number of hours; 19 = 7 hours more than 12 or 7 PM. For 1300 hours start with the number 13. 13 is 1 more than 12, so 13 = 1 PM. For 2300 hours use the number 23. 23 is 11 more than 12 or 11 PM.

1900 hours is 7:00pm. The time starts at midnight at 0 hundred hours. 1:00 am is 0100 hours, 2:00 am is 0200 hours, and so on. The easiest way to do the afternoon is to add 12 to each hour. 1:00 in the afternoon would be 1 + 12 = 1300 hours. 4:00 in the afternoon is 4 + 12 =1600 hours and so forth. Hope this helps you.

It is not specially military time.It is one of two time format. 12/24 H
12H format is 1 to 12 but for morning and afternoon am and pm is used. In 24 H format you continue after 12 to 24.00 and start over again from one. military people found that it was low risk for miss understanding, when they was talking about bombing and meetings etc.
