I know there's absentee ballots, but I was under the impression that that was if you were out of the country. Is that what you do when you're out of state, too? And if so, how do I go about voting in this fashion?

Why do we focus on these and other trivial issues?

Why do we waste three weeks in the Senate debating a flag burning amendment to the Constitution?

Why do we care about gay marriage?

When there's a war in Iraq, our education system (excluding college) is failing compared to most other OECD (developed) countries, crime is increasing, poverty is increasing, North Korea has nukes, Iran is getting nukes, Hugo Chavez is trying to turn Latin America communist, Sudanese children are being murdered relentlessly, Somalia is becoming Talibanized, the Sub-Saharan AIDS epidemic, etc. why do we care about such trivial issues?

Is it not pathetic that the masses are so easily focused on these unimportant matters?

The politicians, it seems, simply exploit the masses by bringing up issues that don't really matter, but they know are easy to draw the attention of America. Then they fail to address real ones.

Is there any realistic way to fix this problem? I fail to see one; maybe you're smarter.

A man accused of driving drunk and killing a Mt. Juliet couple while fleeing from police in June pleaded not guilty in Davidson County Criminal Court Tuesday. Gustavo Reyes Garcia, 28, is charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated assault by reckless conduct, evading arrest and violation of the habitual offender law. Reyes, an illegal immigrant, was arrested at least 14 times but never deported, before being accused in the deadly wreck that killed Sean and Donna Wilson.Reyes case is among several serious incidents in recent years in which illegal immigrants have been arrested. The rash of crimes by foreigners prompted Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall earlier this year to apply for a federal program that would allow deputies to conduct immigration checks of all foreign-born people booked into the Metro jail. After this comment I want to know why he is not guilty, illegal or not, american or not if anybody has been arrested more than 14 times and is not guilty after killed two people in a vehicular homicide something serious happens in Davidson County Criminal Court.
. I’ll tell you someone else who is gutless and spineless and that’s Tennessee’s governor. He claims illegal immigration is a federal problem. I can assure you if that were his wife lying in a casket because some illegal alien with a rap sheet as long as your arm got drunk, ran from police and plowed into her car it would be a state issue. Thief, drunk, maimer, and now murderer. I guess Bush was right. Some of these illegals are doing the jobs Americans just won’t do.

When democrats raise taxes to pay for the Bush spending spree and Giveaways will we be so short sided as to blame the democrats for being responcible enough to pay our debts .Or should we do like all good republicans and file for bankruptcy .Wipe the slate clean and start from scratch .Its like going to re-hab when you walk out you are free from your past because that was not really you somehow .
I get it now .you just have to lie to yourself every minute of every day and tell yourself that you are ok often enough till you believe it .
How does a person live with themselves when its time to tell the family with a sick child that they have reached the limits of the insurance policy and the treatments will no longer be paid by them .How do they walk around after the fill up the pockets of all their friends with money taken out of people savings that they loaned to there college buddies and familys to buy homes with and then declare the company banckrupt leaving tax payers to foot the bil

My DH is AD and has been in for over 9 yrs. He left for deployment 2 weeks ago for 6 months, although he's not in a hazardous area. We have been together for 3 years, but only married for 1 with no kids. I love my DH more than anything and belive in the vows we took. I KNOW my DH feels the same way. But, he has psychological problems that were not diagnosed until after he joined. Since I've known him, he's been on tons of meds for these problems, but they don't help. Infact, they make him worse. I have been by his side his entire treatment. We relocated in the spring and things have since exploded. We have repeatedly gone to the FSC, medical, etc. to try to get him into counseling to help him. They have refused to help us and deal with these issues. The FSC tried to get him to divorce me, because if he gets help, then he might be med. discharged. The problem isn't me, but they have threatened his career if he doesn't. He is very afraid to lose his job-he sent me papers.

This nation all the way down to this forum is as crazy as Kim Jong II. They label based on one opinion, and you either have to be a liberal or conservative, no inbetween. I say yes to pro choice, I'm a stinky liberal hippy, I say yes to the death penalty, i'm a conservative religious wacko. Why can't I support a woman's right to choose and support the death penalty, why can't I support harsh treatment of terrorists and support the pulling out of iraq?

The GOP keeps telling me I have to worry about the Muslim invasion; that's why we have to fight the war in Iraq. Yet, they seem to be surprised that the Iraqis have resisted our invasion and occupation. Is that because they know they would not resist if we were invaded and occupied? Is it really so hard to put yourself into an Iraqis shoes and understand U.S. actions are just plain wrong: we would not want this to happen to us? Would it make a difference if the invasion of America was for "good intentions"? I see and hear a lot of pro-war folks between 18 and 42 who have NOT joined the military; what will the cowards do if we were invaded?
