If US is invaded, will only Democrats be insurgents?

The GOP keeps telling me I have to worry about the Muslim invasion; that's why we have to fight the war in Iraq. Yet, they seem to be surprised that the Iraqis have resisted our invasion and occupation. Is that because they know they would not resist if we were invaded and occupied? Is it really so hard to put yourself into an Iraqis shoes and understand U.S. actions are just plain wrong: we would not want this to happen to us? Would it make a difference if the invasion of America was for "good intentions"? I see and hear a lot of pro-war folks between 18 and 42 who have NOT joined the military; what will the cowards do if we were invaded?

The USA is blessed with natural borders, the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Those oceans are our protection. You ask a good question, however, what would Americans do if invaded? Believe me, there would be plenty of suffering. I grew up in northern Europe, and the Europeans have always rebounded from invasions. The Bismack War, World War I and II. Before that Napoleanic War. Yet USA will never suffer from an all out invasion during this nuclear age.

I just got back from Europe and believe me - the UK has their hands full. Al Qaida just declared UK the number one enemy of Islam (not the US). Not because they are the "infidel", but because they are an "easier target". Does somebody know something in our government? Are we, as usual, underestimating our leaders? When I can't go to the mailbox without a bomb going off in the street then I'll complain about our government. I will agree on one point though, let's pull out of Iraq (we got our Saddam) and let the Iraqis have their civil war. They deserve to air out all those differences that have been festering for centuries, and we need to stand out of the way.

Your question makes no sense.

If the US was invaded, you would see all this partisan stuff go away. Everybody would be united just like we were after 9/11.

The Iraqi insurgency is a combination of terrorists, former bathists/Sadaam supporters and militias from the various groups there.

Only wrong action was in not reducing the Sunni areas to a burned out cinder and then cutting a deal with the Kurds and Shia peoples over splitting the oil and country in half.

They might decide that Allah and God were the same thing, and that it wasn't such a bad idea to pray five times a day. They'd dig the repression of women, but not the bee-keeper garb. Turbans would look good on their balding heads.

Hehe Lots of misinformation here. The Iraq people themselves were and probably still glad to have been liberated. It the outsiders Iranians, Syrians, Saudia's Radical Muslims that have and are creating most of the troubles in Iraq. Its always good hindsight to say How "I" would have handled or should have been handled.
