I completed the leavers form and signed it. I passed it to my line manager who has subsequently left. They completed a new leavers form 2 months after I left (as the one I did has apparently disappeared) and have the wrong date on as I had agreed I was owed hours by my former manager and holidays etc.
I am sure there is some case law which says I can keep the overpayment if I didn't do anything worng (Well they have admitted they have processed the form late), if I could reasonably think I was due the money (Well, I was due back money as well as a back dated pay rise after I left) and if I have spent it (Have a guess!)

Any advicewoould be welcomed!

Regards 2 all.

Many Eastern European girls fake love , marry a US citizen to get visa benefits. I have heard & met many who do it, then after claim abuse & bail out of the marriage. Do you have to be carefull when it comes to marring an alien from other country .What's ur opinion ?

When I moved into my rented house, the Landlord did not supply a refrigerator. She said that she just stop putting them in after they break. I had lived in this same house with my mother when my parents divorced, and there was a fridge then. We did have to buy the washer and dryer (did this time as well). But every time I mention that I bought a fridge, everyone freaks out. They tell me that I shouldn't have to supply the fridge in a rental unit. I have tried looking through Oregon Landlord/Tenant laws, but it started to give me a headache, the print was so small and the sections went on and on and on and on and on....
Anyone have any insight on this? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If a person gives no sound reason for his suspicions, such as of his spouse's fidelity, should others be advicing that person on how to discover if his spouse is unfaithful, or tell him to relax until he has a reason, other than a baseless hunch, to doubt his spouse's fidelity?

They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Do you know who said it?

Frogspeaceflower is sleepy. I would just like to add; It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity.

Good night everyone.

ABC News' George Stephanopoulos asked whether the president agreed with the opinion of columnist Tom Friedman, who wrote in The New York Times today that the situation in Iraq may be equivalent to the Tet offensive in Vietnam almost 40 years ago.

"He could be right," the president said, before adding, "There's certainly a stepped-up level of violence, and we're heading into an election."

Anyone know why most slogans for local and national police departments contain the words,"To Serve and Protect"? When in all actuality, there is no law or legal responsibility of an officer to defend you, or help protect your life. Any insights?

I haven't smoked marijuana in over a year but I did try it a couple times in high school. I know they ask if you ever experimented with it when you go to the recruiting office. Would a simple, "Yes, I tried it a couple times but haven't used it in over a year." disqualify me?

Somebody was asking a question about Vietnam and people were saying we could have won if we had done this or that differently. And it just suddenly occurred to me that I have never heard anybody say exactly what we would have won. I'm sure people must have said it just not around me. I was just a kid but I vaguely remember stuff about dominoes and falling into the lap of the communists like rotten fruit and Kruschev was going to bury us which was why we did not dare lose. But apparently we did lose. But Kruschev didn't bury us. What am I missing?

In a situation where a officer becomes unruly and abusive, what right does a citizen have to personal safety? When you are being detained and/or arrested, and an officer doesn't appear to have mental stability, do you have the 'right' to physical protestation? Example, running or fighting the detention. Any examples or web resources? Thanks!
