Yahoo has been repeatedly accused of collaborating with the Chinese government in the jailing of pro-democracy campaigners and journalists who give away sensitive information about the state. Yahoo hand over email account details upon the request of the Chinese government.

Yahoo has never deigned this, claiming "Just like any other global company, Yahoo must ensure that its local country sites must operate within the laws, regulations and customs of the country in which they are based."

But should Yahoo be upholding the laws of country that imprisons people who campaign for democracy. I am thankful (and do not take for granted) that I am even allowed to Post this question. But in doing so and continuing to use Yahoo are we helping to deny the same rights to other people? Should the citizens of democratic countries boycott the services of such internet companies in order to pressure a change of policy and a spread of democracy?

Okay...a guys question a few mins ago reminded me of this....About a year ago, I was at a gas station at like 3 a.m. calling my mom on a payphone (i didn't have a home phone or cell). Anyway she works nights as a nurse and i have insomnia so i decided that i wanted to talk to her about something...i'm getting off of the point.....anyway, as i'm sitting there in my car (i pulled right up to the payphone (it was cold outside!)) and this cop pulls up and asks to see my drivers liscense...BTW i was at a 24 hour gas station...he gets my liscense and runs it and low-and-behold i have a warrant for a freaking bounced check that i had wrote a while back and was fighting the bank over (longER story). Anyways he procedes to cart my A$$ off to jail....can they do that??????...i wasn't breaking the law talking on the payphone....

To be more specific, my father was serving in the US Armed Forces when he met and married my mother, a Spanish citizen. I was born in her country, and was promptly registered in the US Consulate there and have carried my FS-240 form throughout my childhood and teenaged years. During my father's absences due to military duty, we lived with my mother's family in Spain throughout my childhood and teenage years, and except for a couple of years, I didn't move to the US until I was 2 weeks from my 20th birthday. We were told by the consulate that if I didn't move to the US after being away for 10 years, I would lose my citizenship.

Once I moved to the US, I lived and worked there, and paid my taxes for nearly 30 years, until I met a Canadian man on the internet and recently moved to Canada and married him over the Summer. If I stay in Canada, could I lose my US citizenship? I do have my FS 240 along with my passport to prove my citizenship.

If those were the only two choices, who would you choose to be the next president of the US? That's the first question. The second is, never mind who you'd vote for, who do you think would actually WIN?

Why is our Country in so much trouble?

Just take a look at the hateful questions and answers on this site. How can anyone work with such crude people who only know how to hate, ridicule, and assasinate the character of those trying to fix things.

What do our politicians teach your children when it is o.k. to slander others, lie about others, stir up trouble for others. What are you teaching your children. Are these things making a better or worse world for them

We complain about the violence in society today and yet our vehement vengence is propagating it.
