I've been prank called recently and would like to take action.

I'm not sure about England but here its harassment but you have to show a pattern & identifi the caller. Hopefully you have caller id, If noy it will be a lot harder to get hem. Record the calls & the time each time your called. If it's a one time thing though forget it.

Call the phone company and let them know what is going on. I know in the U.S. most people have caller IDs so you don't answer if you don't know the number. Some use *69 when someone calls and hang up.
But most of the time, once the person prank calls, if u hang up and dial the operater they can find where the call is coming from and notify the police.

police cannot do anything for you. try calling back and telling them they will die.
