I didn't realize that americans dying in a foreign nation was so funny. Apparently that guy thinks it is. THERE IS NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT AMERICANS DYING!

This guy supports the war, endlessly hawks, and believe American sacrifice is acceptable to "save" Iraq. Then he adds a questions about liberals rejoing over the war death toll!

Most libs want our brave heros to come home and let the Iraqis run their own nation.

My husband has been deployed with the Army. Although he is not in Iraq yet he is in school here in the states until next month. He is in Pennsylvania so I get to talk to him occassionally. They have a pretty laid back atmosphere there. He says its more like college tha being in the military. He can go out to the bar and has a room all to himself since his roomate got sent home.
He has been kind of distant lately and hanging out at the bar a LOT. I talked to him earlier and he was in his room, he had just gotten back from the bar (big surprise). Someone knocked on his door and I heard a female voice. He told her to come on in, and then abruptly told me he would call me back in a minute....didnt call me by my name, say I love you or anything. It's been over 30 minutes and no phone call. Am I reading too much into this, or shoud I be concerned he is cheating? I know everyone says you can't cheat in the military but he did it a couple of years ago when he was in Germany. What do I do???

Government funded welfare programs are a trade off between freedom and security. Money is power and when we turn our money over to the government for programs such as unemployment (the benefits are paid by employers, but the program itself is taxpayer funded), Social Security, food stamps, and public schools we give up power and freedom to the government that would otherwise belong to us.

Unemployment recipients for example give up much of their freedom to decide when, where, and from whom they will accept a new position.

Food stamps and other handouts are expensive and low income workers who would prefer to save for such contingencies have a harder time doing so because so much of their money goes to taxes to pay for those programs.

Mandatory contributions to Social Security take away the workers right to decide how much of their retirement funds are invested.

Paying taxes for the public school system makes it difficult for low income parents to choose private schools.

My father told me about a muslim woman in Florida trying to get a license. When she was going to get her picture taken the photographer told her to take her veil off. The muslim woman told the photo guy that she wanted to keep her veil on because of her beliefs and FREEDOM...

Let me tell you why this doesn't work....

Because if we let people come to our country and doing their own weird things, they are basically eating this country inside-out.

But of course we let them pray here and let them kneel to their go and let them "live" but if you don't comply to a country's standard way of life, than you shouldn't be treated like ME or my fellow brothers and sisters who are the pure American people and went to school here.

A perfect example are Mexican people. Why should they get Spanish signs telling them everything so they don't have to learn English?
My Polish father didn't get Polish written signs to tell him where the hell things are! He studied his bum off to succeed here.

Some people I've talked to think that in America there is no class system which is ridiculous. America has more class divides than most places. Where else in the world do you have high-schools jocks beating up on intellectuals and mean-spirited rich kids beating up on the lower-classes? Give me a break!

Clinton handed Bush a 4.2 rate... and it's 4.6 now?

is that something to brag about? I mean it's not "high"... but it's not improving the situation any?

I just find it odd?

Clinton was handed a 7 percent rate... and got it down to around 4... that's pretty good improvement over 8 years if you ask me...

Do you think this is so?
