This is a quote from my Equity text.

"A man was allowed to have a lease of a fishery set aside... He had taken the lease from his cousin, believing she was the owner of the fishery, when in fact his uncle, the previous owner, had left it to him. His name was not Eccles".

The case is Cooper v Phibbs (1987) LR 2 (HL) 149.

What does this mean about Eccles? Is it some kind of joke? I would be so grateful if anyone could explain it.

Ok so here's the deal.

a month ago I hired a plasterer to do some work in my house. He was plastering for about a week and seemed like an honest guy and did a great job. He said he'd be finished on the saturday so saturday morning I paid him in full as I had to go to work. He said he'd send me an invoice. I get home after work and the work isn't finished, there are two walls that haven't been plastered. a month later after endless excuses and many times when he said he'd show up to finish i'm still left with 2 unplastered walls. Just wondering where I stand legally? Can I get money back off him for not finishing the work? I have no proof that he did any of it as I never got the invoice. I realise it was stupid of me to pay him before the job was finished but I trusted the guy. Any idea what can be done, I live in the UK by the way.

who stand firmly besides their beliefs and the administration be damed, We the people are not going to allow this administration to kill anymore innocent Americans and blame it on alqueda or anyone else. So starting right now mr bush, you better start working for us we employ you and we can and will impeach you, You have killed 3000 Americans and tried to blame it on someone else come on people you all started to scream for clintons impeachment, is murder ok with you? We don't have to accept cheney in the oval office we can go on down the line until someone honest and decent is in office or write a new constitution we probably have to as mr bush has quit following it anyway.

Once i weed in the ice loly making thing put loly sticks in them and put them in the freeser to give to a frend. aftere he weed in my aflereshave. i hear alot on tv that north korea is going to test another nuclear bomb , possibly maybe even a third test, Bush said on an annoucment yesterday , if they continue what there doin USA will take correct measures against them. the last time he said something like that was before us troops invaded iraq. If that happens every other country is almost forced to join in , Can you Guys say World War Three ??? what a shame

I think about Jesus and His teachings and I think about the Republican party and they seem very different. Do you think the Republicans are using religion just to get votes? I am not so sure sometimes.
They don't seem to follow the teachings of Jesus or the spirit of America.

I swear if you go into that society and culture section you'll hear ignorance, diversity and tolerance preached so much by these peopel delivering these canned answers force fed to them by their elementary school teachers. Can't they form a reasonable answer using logic instead of these three key words they were told to say and believe?

the government are about to spread out the use of facial recognition software so that there use will include passport offices dept. of work and pension offices etc. it is claimed that the use of such software will not only cut terrorism but help reduce fraudulent claimants etc. what will happen then to muslim women wishing to wear the veil and such is it big brother going too far or is it a sensible step forward in today's climate.
