Besides Bush, what other president tried to violate the first amendment by making it illegal to burn flags instead of focusing on the real issues?

I own a pair of very short swimming fins designed by a top world class manufacturer exclusively for swimming pool training. However I was banned from using them in a London pool. It is definetely a swimming pool accessory and NOT scuba or open sea water long flippers. My fins have rounded rubber padded ends for safety protection.

In the same pool there is a SCUBA course where they use fins. It seems that management is discriminating fin use according to customer return and they are more lax with safety rules, if they make additional money. They make the same amount of money, if I use fins or not. If I became a scuba trainee, they will make more money from me and allow me to wear fins, actually sea fins!

I need to use the fins to rehabilitate from an orthopedic condition, so I will appreciate any serious replies. Thanks

You don't have to be a history major.
Any reason to think that President Bush deserves a certain ranking is fine.
Some think that he is a good President! Give reasons!
Some think that he is no good as President! Support your view.
Plz, keep the length reasonable, no screeds! I don't weigh answers!

Having just read about the new incentive to intergrate immigrants into the UK . the Gov have come up with the idea that if you learn them to clown around, spin plates on sticks etc etc, it will help them with the English Language. But the icing on the cake is the fact that we the Tax Payer foot the bill yet again at £2,000 a go!
Is the Gov working together with Barnums's, ?
Or are they starting their own circus ready for the next election?

Should there be a grand jury process to determine if the charge is valid, and then, if valid, an independent prosecutor assigned just to that case?
Does Congress need ethics enforcement taken out of it's hands?
Or do they keep special status?

you people should know, one of the biggest reasons people break immigration laws are because of the horrible things they are allowed to do to people without care for what happens to the life of those they harm, this is not about people who wish to harm the USA this is about a closed group of people doing what they wish with humans, and then telling lies to the american people about how fair and simple their laws are to fallow, I speak out because no one else will, the laws in this country on immigration and the underhanded lies they tell everyone are as un-american as something you would get from CUBA, we have people here for work from other countrys and that seams to be ok with people, but a persons family is a different topic all together, my question is why has the laws on this never had any ajustment to be more kind to a human and his wife and child, remember we are talking about an AMERICAN person with a wife from a different country, be nice in your reply please, thank you

No offensive language please as I'm already inundated with foul mouths opening their traps because of bringing the zionist issues out. This is no freedom of speech in the so called civilized world. It seems to be ok to swear, criticise, belittle, bemoane muslims and arabs and Islam, but the slightest hint of critising jews is a crime in the western world. How can this be anti semetic. Surly this is undemocratic or it "do as i say not as i do."

I work in a community hall which is responsible for realisation of selfgovernmental rule( tending torender services satysfying local society needs and to versatile development of the community).
we have ellections for the new community major and for the members of community council.
I am also a member of village society society. and as a member of the society i will organize a political debate for all the canditates for the seats. and here comes the problem: my boss is so against it ( he wants to be elected again) said I am plotting agains him . all the employees are against it too. thay all just want ot keep their not-to-much do do work with not to demending boss. they all, including my boss, don't give a damn about the development of the community.
so here is the question? what do you think about it? are debates popular in the place where you live? do you take part in it? thanks.

On Tuesday, President Bush signed a law passed by Congress regarding interrogation and trials for accused terrorists and enemy combatants. This was in response to Supreme Court rulings in 2004 and 2006 regarding the treatment of such persons.

My question is, what was the state of the law before that? We fought many wars before this one. Was Bush trying to do something not done before, did the courts expand protections for enemy combatants, or were we violating the law during those prior conflicts, up until recently? It seems as though there could be no explanation, other than one (or more) of those three.

So, what is it? Please provide sources if you can.

I really would appreciate serious answers. Maybe we will all learn something. Thanks!

Would it have been better to put 335 billion dollars into health-care or education instead of using it to murder thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis? So much for the "party of family values".
