I work in a community hall which is responsible for realisation of selfgovernmental rule( tending torender services satysfying local society needs and to versatile development of the community).
we have ellections for the new community major and for the members of community council.
I am also a member of village society society. and as a member of the society i will organize a political debate for all the canditates for the seats. and here comes the problem: my boss is so against it ( he wants to be elected again) said I am plotting agains him . all the employees are against it too. thay all just want ot keep their not-to-much do do work with not to demending boss. they all, including my boss, don't give a damn about the development of the community.
so here is the question? what do you think about it? are debates popular in the place where you live? do you take part in it? thanks.

I see you are from Poland. I don't know what the political climate is like in Poland.
Here in the United States political debates are popular. I held public office for 8 years. I took part in several public debates. A debate gives each candidate a chance to state their plans for the entity they will be governing over. Following their statements there is an open question and answer session for those attending the debate. Political debates can be invaluable to the voters in comparing the different candidates. Promote it heavilly through your local news media. Also, consider having two different debates at different times of the day. There will be those who can't attend a debate during the daytime and those that can't attend a debate at night. I commend your attempt to put a debate together.
Perhaps what you could do is go back to the Village Society membership and seek assistance from them in putting this debate together. Preferrably involving Society members that are not employed in the same Community Hall. Explain your dilemma.
I wish you luck... and whatever you do, do not put yourself in jeopardy of reprimand by your boss to the extent that you can not live with whatever action he takes against you. Because he will. You need to be prepared for that.
Take Care...

they are in a rut, or they want to keep things as they are,or they are just not bothered, but if as you say they all are against you and you did have debate and vote would they not vote you out anyway. or when you said all did you just meen the members and not all the village, some people who have a realy cushy number feel threatened by change incase the cushy number becomes hard. as it is only a village, why dont you go on a walkabout, knocking on doors and speak to villagers, that would not be possable in a city but give it a try get new members that approve.

If your role is to support the democratic election of the community mayor and council, then your boss shouldn't be against you - if he is (and obviously so) you have the potential to take him and his staff to a tribunal. If I was in a similar situation I would go all out to ensure that the elctions were held in accordance with the rules and constitution of the village society.
If he's reelcted and continues to make life difficult for you - go to a tribunal. If he loses his position - all the better for you, but if the lazy staff continue in their roles, and continue to make your life difficult - go to a tribunal.
You can't lose either way so long as you stick to the rules and regulations of the society.

Pay no mind to your boss and work mates. Debate is nessessary to make people think, and make informed decisions. Debates are popular in any real thriving democracy and should be demanded by the electorate. I love nothing more than going to debates and QA sessions to see just how smart the politicians are.

Sounds to me like all those people have become like every other sort of "government" employee. Once they're in, they set and have a nice cushy job for as long as no one stirs thing up. Well Good for you for stirring things up. Sounds like it needs to be done. I don't know if I would consider debates "popular" , but they are a great forum for people to hear different viewpoints and I for one love a good debate. If a person is knowledgable and secure in their stance, they should welcome a debate. You are like Jimmy Stewart in "Mr SMith goes to Washington."
Do the right thing, and if they can't see that you are the only one trying to forward the political process, it just confirms that they would rather sit and drink their coffee and skate, skate , skate.

i think of you are able to critique a controversy yet could desire to have a answer because of the fact the technique of spotting the flaw will lead you to a answer. it ought to not be proper even though it quite is something to construct on. sure i think of it quite is hypocritical/unjustified to pout out the justifications why it quite is a bad concept in case you are able to not grant an option. Criticizing without suggestions is in simple terms being serious. (whilst the competition won't supply you time to respond is this a honest debate?)

It seams to me you are right and everybody else is wrong , I am a chairman of an Archery club , I recently had someone just like you who said he didn't want my job but fought everything i said or tried to do and had a small following of people. So i had a meeting to try to resolve the differences . Again they listened to no argument and insisted they were right and everybody else was wrong , I called for a showdown vote off all members . they are no longer members of the club. if you dont like the situation GO

It is most important that open debate takes place despite what your boss thinks. Why is he so scared? Is he trying to hide something.
