used1goods you're an Idiot. The question stated that they have an Indian license and is in Sydney. Please for the love of God why would this individual want to fly all the way to the States to get a license, to get an International License ???

Any how - If you go back to India you can get an International License there and that will be good. Otherwise check with the Drivers License office in Sydney and see what they have to say. They are the only ones who will truely know what you can and can't do.

Driver's license issued abroad can be used in another country like in Australia within a limited period of time upon arrival if allowed. If the stay is for a longer period, the driver must apply for a license in Australia.
