To be perfectly honest, I don't see an actual question in the original posting here.
However, I have noticed a definite pro-administration slant on these boards where anyone who doesn't say everything is wonderful with the current administration quickly gets their answers marked as negative. Oh well, free speech includes free feedback.
Anyone who thinks that Bush and Cheney have done nothing illegal or impeachable haven't been paying attention. John Dean, a conservative (former Nixon Administration legal counsel), lays out a meticulous legal case, fully documented in his book "Worse Than Watergate".
Whether you think they should be allowed to wiretap American citizens in the US (again, US citizens, domestically, so don't change the topic), there are laws in place governing those kinds of communications. They have the ability to do so, even retroactively under FISA. To completely bypass the laws is a "right" no one has. It's illegal and an abuse of power.
The Constitution states that treaties ratified are the law of the land. This includes, for example, the Geneva conventions. To ignore and flout them, again, whether you agree with them or not, is not a decision that can be made unilaterally.
It's funny that conservatives often parrotted the phrase "rule of law" when dealing with a private, consensual relationship between two adults that had nothing to do with the powers of office.
In matters that actually deal with the use of powers of office to willfully disregard the law, suddenly "rule of law" and being a "nation of laws" is no longer important when the power and politics is on their own side.
So.... that's my non-answer to the non-question....

I hope you and those who agree with you more or less will understand my viewpoint about this whole mess and the future of the USA. I speak as a disabled veteran, one who, paid the price for all of us to speak freely, did not vote for Bush or his father, still feels that Clinton should have been impeached for his blatant lie (but think that he has put that behind him and is becoming a statesmean perhaps), knows that Nixon was a crook, will never vote for Hillary, would vote for Kerry (again), Powell, McCain, Lieberman or soon-to be Senator Ford and hates war. However, if Bush is guilty of anything it is stupidity and hubris and he cannot be impeached for that. I do believe Cheney and Rumsfeld are guilty of war profiteering but doubt that they can be impeached. I think that anything they realize as personal fianacial gain from their interest (even if in blind trusts) from Haliburton should be returned in total to the US treasury. I still support removing Saddam from power because he was a petty tyrant who had already killed tens of thousands of innocents in his country, financially supported terrorism and was a loose cannon in a dangerous area. Anytime we stand up for the disadvantaged we are doing the right thing IMO. I cannot really understand from your essay what 3000 Americans you are talking about. If you are suggesting that you believe that the WTC was destroyed by our government then you are a lunatic crackpot. I hope you mean the 3000 (nearly) soldiers who have died in the war. While I don't support the manner in which the rebuilding of Iraq has progressed, neither do I feel that Bush or others should be impeached for what has happened. Anyone with any prior knowledge of Iraq would have expected exactly what has happened and would have planned a different after battle strategy. Who knows exactly what would have worked? Who knows what may have happened if we had not gone into Iraq a second time? A president is obligated to act to preserve the union. I think that Bush did what he thought was correct even if I disagree. The situation might now be even worse if he had acted differently. We do need a change in leaders and that will be accomplished through our constitutional process soon enough. Our tropps are still doing a great job in a very difficult conflict. I hope we have no more casualties and that they all come home safely soon. BTW, I'd have let Iraq have its civil war months ago after arming the Kurds (evenif that did piss off the Turks). I wonder if you would have supported that?

Wow. He did NOT kill 3000 Americans. When did he do that?
And you can't impeach him unless he does something wrong. Which he hasn't. Just because you disagree with him doesn't mean that there are grounds for impeachment.
And how has President Bush stopped following the Constitution? I have seen a lot of crap on here, but nothing that supports that opinion, at least no FACTS that support it.
It's pretty bad, it's almost 2:30 AM PST. What ARE you people still doing up?
It's 11:30 AM my time. I have an excuse for being up!

Right on! I have far too many opposing opinions and beliefs when it comes to the Bush Administration that I believe will definitely give Pres. Bush a permanent place in history that will surpass any other President so far--unfortunately. I'm not a bleeding liberal, democrat, anti-Republican--I am middle-aged, self-employed, born in the US and vote for what I believe is best, given limited choices. The USA is my country; I've never traveled abroad. I was a stunned, confused, and shocked person when 9/11 happened and so many innocent lives were taken. There has never been a terrorist attack like it before and it gave all rational, reasonable people pause to think about WHY they did it and left more questions open than resolved. It is difficult to access the whole picture and I do not blame Pres. Bush for everything, but I have young relatives who will grow up in a different world than I did and I don't feel confident anymore. How long will our war to bring democracy to Iraq take? Would we be willing to be invaded and have a totally foreign government concept replace ours? There is so much to protect on the homefront, so many social & economic problems that are in dire need to keep America stable. The unbelieveable billions of federal money spent and still needed to continue re-shaping Iraq is stupifying when there are American citizens, old, young, without healthcare, schools where kidnappings, murder/suicides occur even in an Amish Village, prisons filled to capacity, endless social issues that happen everyday but after the news broadcast ends, so does the subject. Because all the focus, money, military defense, etc. must be given priority to continue this war. I believe it is far from over and a time in American history that affects every one, whatever your view/belief/opinion may be. I cannot imagine who would be the next one to live in the White House and be able to begin to deal with America's needs and the international political arena. Modern technology brings the outside world into all our lives, through modern communication. I have a nice quiet life and many things to feel blessed about, but I also know that this is a time to be truly concerned about our government and who sits in that Oval Office that affects all of us. But I do feel that Cheney has been the ideal Vice President for Bush. His position and political actions throughout his term ensures Bush's political leadership. Without President Bush, Vice President Cheney would hold the reins and we all know what happened when he held a shotgun on a hunting expedition. Richard Nixon had a specific reason for choosing Spiro Agnew as his running mate. With Agnew behind the throne, it made Nixon the lesser of two evils. Not that Nixon was evil, he was extremely intelligent. But that didn't mean he was sane. I hope the second part of my life will be safe and liveable to grow old in, but I don't feel comfortable or as sure of things as I once did.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there are too many people bashing our President for things that were decided in committee and not by him alone.
While it is OK to say that "the buck stops at his desk" one has to consider that "Command is a very lonely place and men are not God with God's infallibility."
How many of you out there honestly believe that everything ( or even one thing) he did was because he wanted to hurt America.? No matter what you think of his performance, you still have to respect his loyalty to the USA, and you have to respect his morality.
Personally I think he has done a great job when you consider that he had to correct the mishandling of the previous administration and he was also saddled with 9/11 that was almost like Pearl Harbor, a problem he had to respond to in order to save America's image.
Regardless of how I feel, George W. Bush is still the President of my country and as such I will support him as long as I can.

One day, Americans will look at its history and see that without the loss of lives, we would not be here today.
Until that day, look at all the numbers and feel overwhelmed until you've totally forgotten why we went there, what we planned to do, and how we will eventually leave there.
If there is no sense of pride of the way we leave there, there will soon no longer be a place to go.
I am sure some will disagree- but what would there be to discourage them from coming?
If they FEEL like they can win there, they will feel they can HERE as well.
It's as simple as that.

What Nightstalker said so eloquently, Maybe you should learn to listen to people like him that have been there and done that. Not to the silly children at your school and your teacher or professor that has never seen anything more dangerous than some of the test scores they grade, and has no conception of reality. Just theory

You are silly and un informed. But I still love you. What would you do then not defend our country against terrorists who would like nothing better to kill you and me? sorry but I think our country is worth defending and our way of life as far as freedom to choose goes. War sucks but living without freedom is worse.
