I have had an argument with my employer about this. I am an hourly administrative worker for a clinical research compnay and I work near their clinical lab where patients are seen so they made me take a skin TB test which I failed due to growing up in the developing world and must have been exposed at some point. The procedure after this is to have a chest X-ray done to see if you have ever actually had TB. So, I had to go to a hospital (I did this on company time) and get an X-ray.
When the bill came, they made me give them my insurance info so they could bill them for the procedure and then when the bill came for the remainder (for very little but this has become a matter of principal for me) they told me I had to pay it and they would reimburse me when I submitted an expense report.
This does not feel kosher to me and I don't want to pay this out of pocket and wait to be reimbused as this is something the company needed and not me. Is what the company did legal and/or ethical?

Here in my city, Chelsea, MA, the town is "taking" pieces of land and refurbishing them to make apartments and stores. However, this is not the politicians land and THEY make all the money from this. We're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars going to the wrong people.
They are spending tons of the city's money to make it happen.
The city executives see it as profit potential, but it is public land.

Has this happened to anyone else's towns?

Most objective experts around the world agree America has the best trained and most skilled combat soldiers of any military in existence, with the Israeli IDF and British Army being second and third. What do you all think.

As a former service member I can add to this story and add light.

First of all under the Geneva Convention any vehicle being used as an ambulance must be identified with a red cross.....

Second... The procedure would have been to challenge the vehicle and give it every opportunity to identify itself as a non combatant... If the vehicle did not adhere to the challenge then yes they lit it up....

That is called collateral damage....

I may not be in favor of this war but the bloody Brits can go **** themselves here....

Really, I would like each answerer to name only one thing that Bush has done wrong while he has been in office. I am going to take the obvious and answer the war in Iraq based on his lie. If you run out of things from the other answerers just name one lie that he has told. Answer as you wish.

I hear so many accounts from America, stating that the republicans, wishing to smear a democrat candidate, call him liberal. It's like ... "He's liberal, oh my gosh, head for the hills!" What's the fuss? In Europe, it would just outline a candidate's policies.

More than any other President, when he signs a law he adds a statement detailing when he feels that the law is valid, and when it is not.
There is not a provision for this in the Constitution.
Can the President invalidate a law passed by Congress and upheld by the Courts?
Or is this an abuse of power by the Executive Branch?
