Why did the democrats reject Lieberman and accept a liberal like Lamont? Are they going to throw away all the moderates? I'm a democrat but I didn't like how many democratic leaders turn their back on him, does anybody else agree with this?

We hear about 20, 40, 60 Iraqis a day being killed and it doesn't really register as bad, its normal. But then we hear about 3, 4,5 American troops killed and we grieve and mourn them. So my question is are these lives more valuable?

There will be more ballot initiatives this year, than any other non presidential election year. States are putting issues up for the voters, and not the legislators. Is this a sign that people don't have faith in their legislature? Are states trying to reclaim a 'democracy'? How do you feel about that?

According to the tests conducted by other counties such as China, USA, South Korea and Japan no radio activity fall out can be detected in North Korea suggesting that no Nuclear weapons were tested. Would that make Kim Jung Il the world's biggest fool?

In my view, working is healthier for the individual than not working. The people who are lazy/unemployable will mainly think that working is not such a bad idea after all and be thankful.I also think that if a job is unavailable in the area, then people should have to work for their benefits money. Please tell me why you agree/disagree with my statement.

Although you liberals probably think your diatribe in your questions will influence the election you need to look at who votes in this country. If your purpose is to display a large amount of ignorance related to what is actually going on in this Country you are suceeding. If anyone who supported Bill Clinton can hold their head up then the real problem in our nation is lack of morals.

When my daughter's father and I separated, she was about 4 months old, and he moved from here (Texas) to Nevada. (we weren't married.) His name is on her birth certificate, but he doesn't have an active part in her life, only visits her every once in awhile. She'll be 2 in December, and he's only come to visit her twice since he moved out of the state. I do not collect child support, when he first left, he'd send me a little money every once in awhile when he had it, but he hasn't sent anything in over a year. I don't want the father to not be able to visit, I just want him to not have any parental rights to her. A very good friend of mine had a similar situation with her son, and after 2 years of the father saying he didn't want to be involved, he recently got married, and now he's trying to take the boy away from his mother. I just don't want the same thing to happen with my daughter. Any advice?

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

The 2nd amendment clearly isn't about preventing crime, but to prevent the oppression of states and the people as a whole. Personal possession of a weapon isn't really even included unless you are a part of a REGULATED militia?
The amendment could also be read as keeping the state secure from an inside insurgency of certain minorities.

Why is the 2nd amendment then associated with preventing crime? Bearing arms, according to the constitution is more about storming the white house than defending yourself against crime.

I have a friend whose brother doesn't want to go to court because he is afraid he will get stuck in jail if he doesn't have the money for the court fees. I'm trying to tell them it's going to be worse if he doesn't go. He was pulled over for a DWI and hasn't seen a lawyer so I guess he's going to represent himself. Does anyone know what would be the cost of court fees for a DWI in NC?
Thanks!

If we catch Bin Laden alive, I wonder what will happen when we put him alone in a dark room with nothing but a television.

As for the mental sample of "what the outside world is like", playing MTV repeatidly many hours to him, and observing his reaction in the end.

What do you think he would say?
