Tough question: There are as many reasons for being homeless as there are homeless people. There are some safe generalizations and they are; a high percentage of homeless people are mentally ill, another large group consists of the drug addicted. There are some people that are just down and out because of bad breaks or poor personal planning.
Maybe a government can assist in sheltering the homeless, but the issues are so complex that government will probably never be able to solve all of them. Not trying to be religious, but the Bible says, “The poor will always be with us… (paraphrased).”

Many of the people who are homeless choose to be homeless. There are many good organizations out there that already help the homeless. They don't need government intervention, just volunteers to help out. We need to stop that kind of funding from the government and put it back into the hands of people. I can't imagine the horrors of a government entity dealing with homeless people. By the time the homeless got done with the paperwork, they'd starve. Look at welfare and all of the fraud involved there. Why do we need another fraud laden-ed- bureaucratic- over taxed government project? A homeless person can go to any church and be fed (I know this for a fact, as our church would not only feed them, but also get them bus tickets to another city in the summer, since it was in the desert) and missions and the Salvation Army will give them a place to sleep. If you want to help out the single women with children sleeping in shelters or their cars, give them affordable child care.

No. Here's why:
The government needs to focus on ending homelessness,
not supporting those who are already.
The laws of sociology claim supporting homeless persons only supports the theory and idea of being homeless. Also, creating employment and well as other social programs would benefit society as a whole so much more than just supporting the homeless.

As a Conservative republican I do not mind helping the homeless but if they are physically and mentally capable of working they should be required to get a job at some point. This should be told to them at the beginning so there is no surprises. My cousin has section 8, this is a housing befit, in the beginning the areas you can move to are limited the longer your in the better the areas you can move to. This does not motivate people to get off the program only to stay in longer and milk the system.

I think that if we condone a Goverment going into a country to free liberate other people of other countries, then we should also practice our conerns at home. America first.
If the goverment would stop overspending then a program for homeless people could be possible. Go and look at their budget. We have spend billions on a useless war and in fact went in the wrong country. In ending if any Goverment can find billions for war then they can very will find money for social programs!!

" "Dan, not all people people are pigs. we've a community of philanthropy for the era of this land." With very few exceptions, that community funds the humanities, PBS, and such. aside from Pres. Jimmy Carter's efforts little or no is performed to feed the hungry, furnish sufficient scientific look after the working unfavorable, housing for the homeless. it extremely is time for the U. Already too lots administration has been transferred to China. it ought to already be too previous by way of opposite what has occurred. It must be very problematical for the asker and different people to ascertain the decadence around them, the obsession with international domination, the funds wasted on area probes(so Pluto isn't a planet, who cares?) that would not positioned food on the tables of united statesa. or a roof over one people head. It stuns me that maximum of people in the rustic think of every physique else in the international is chomping on the bit to alter into an American. As a Canadian, I care very lots for people and that i'm able to experience their frustration and that's heartbreaking. sufficient pronounced, i'm happy i became born north of the border. could God help united statesa..

That is a hard question to answer: Some homeless are genuinely a result of hard times and have lost everything and have nowhere else to go, and nowhere to start, yes they need help. On the other hand you have homeless who don't want help or if you try to help, they take the resources and abuse them to get alcohol or drugs.

Well, we have been upside down in our budget (spending more than we take in) for somewhere around 40 years now. If we spend more on homeless are you willing to pay more taxes for this?

The "HOMELESS " are trying to get NUKES , flying planes into buildings , blowing up embassies , killing civilians , we better concentrate all our efforts on them .
Next thing you know , they'll have BIO-WEAPONS and give us all smallpox.
We better surrender , disband our military and give all the money to the "HOMELESS" before they destroy us !
