A W E S O M E Question!

Why the heck are they the only ones that do not want to sign the Kyoto protocol which would reduce greenhouse gases (the US generates the most) and keep doubting the words of concerned environmentalists?

Oh, yea, I forgot - "It would hurt the economy!"

I suppose the nearly 12,000 scientists who signed a petition AGAINST the Kyoto Protocols are not reputable? There is still healthy debate in reputable scientific corners about the causes of global warming. Very few people even deny that something is changing the climate. The evidence just isn't in to confirm that it is caused by human activity. The earth warms just before an ice age begins and we are overdue for an ice age by approximately 500 years.

"Nearly all reputable scientists" do NOT agree. Where do you get your information? The earth has been warming and cooling many times over the years and, as a matter of fact, did so long before mankind was here. How do you explain that, or is that the fault of Republicans, too?

With all due respect to the scientific community, cerebral individuals tend to focus less on matters political. Ultimately matters political through representation and voter reaction, tend towards truth and what is best for all; key word All. Unfortunately the process in slow. Historically the Democratic party in this country act and react according to the political winds. We are are a Republic and are best represented by Republican philosophy. If indeed global warming is a threat to our safety then surely through this representation the Republican party will be set straight.

It is a very common misconception that the majority of scientists believe that global warming is a complete result of man-created pollution....

The Earth has gone through NUMEROUS periods of warming throughout the numerous millenniums of time.... but the media does not want to promote the ideas of the scientists that state that it is part of the natural cycle that has done this time after time....

We all agree that pollution is bad... just not that global warming is all because of us 'evil' humans....

Nearly all? Not all. And the number is dwindling. The computer models are not working. The temparture of the oceans have dropped this year, throwing all previous calculations off drastically (USA today). The original "hockey stick" theory was already debunked. There is Global Waming, but they don't know why and they cannot predict the results.

Actually if you read Scientific American and Discover magazines on a regular basis you will come accross dissenting views on how important the role of humans are in the warming of the planet. The planet is in a warming phase nobody denies that but it has been warming for the last 8,000 and scientists will say themselves that there is no way of knowing how much we are contributing to it.

Because prominent democrats, such as Al Gore, are highly involved in the issue. It's simple. Gore is a democrat who says that GW is real so therefor, as far as republicans are concerned, it can't be true. If Gore came out against GW, saying it was false, then the republicans would embrace it. They don't give a **** about the country or the world. Just partisan politics.

I love the phrase "nearly all reputable scientists". Oh... I guess only the "researchers" who agree with you and the far left are reputable.

I love it when there is an extra cold winter and the zany left screams that the cold weather is evidence of warming!
