We hear about 20, 40, 60 Iraqis a day being killed and it doesn't really register as bad, its normal. But then we hear about 3, 4,5 American troops killed and we grieve and mourn them. So my question is are these lives more valuable?

I had occasion once to ask what a life was worth. I was crossing the road in central London -- in Pall Mall, which is the big avenue running from Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar Square. I had waited for the traffic lights to change to red and I had a "green man" assuring me that it was safe to cross. Suddenly I heard a hooting from an approaching car and saw that it was flying the royal standard (which meant that probably the Queen was travelling inside). I got the message. It was simply not going to stop at that red light! I was greatly shaken, but managed to step back in time not to be hit. However, I have been asking myself ever since why that royal life was so much more important than mine. Suppose, for instance, that I had been a scientist on the brink of a great discovery which would have transformed the lives of many people, instead of being the insignificant person I am? Suppose I had been too infirm to leap out of the way?
But you're right, some lives are given a higher value than others and I too question the insistence that the lives of some nationals are held to be more important than others. I think that it all boils down to propaganda and it has to be accepted that propaganda is important in war to raise the morale of the country involved.

You should read this info on the Acts of Democracy that shape the world we live in to understand this viewpoint. It is told in excellent detail here:
http://krysstal.com/#democracy
And then see why an Iraqi life is perceived as being of less value than an American life.

NO WAY! These are innocent men, women and children, who were unfortunate enough to be born in Iraq. We don't belong over there, I've said that from the beginning. Due to greed (the controlling of the oil, under their soil), the US (Republicans maybe not all, just all who support this war) are killing innocent men, women and children. How CAN I be proud to be an American?

No, these lives are not more valuable. It is just human nature. We mostly only show concern when we are affected. Imagine an ambulance rushing past you with the siren blaring carrying an unknown person in critical condition to the hospital. Then imagine knowing that your loved one is the person being carried. That changes your feelings. You become less aloof.

The smiles, tears, irreplaceable memories and endless love of another life...
The score is up to 650,000 Iraqis alone, don't forget. Bush probably thinks less about those than his own kids anyway

No they are not! Everyone is equal in how valuable their lives are. The sad thing is that some humans ( and I use the word human lightly) are not! able to grasp how precious each human life is and how valuable we are to each other. If only we could learn to speak and work it out instead of picking up arms and kill others.

Their lives are just as valuable as yours. They may be Iraqi's but they love life like we do.

I don't think that Americans are not keeping track and I believe deep in their hearts they are disheartened by what is actually going on. I personally am sickened by a rogue goverment who has done nothing but lie to us, consistentley and without conscious. Americans do care and I think we will show that at the election.

Your value is dependant upon your perspective.
American lives are more valuable to the Americans and visa versa.
I always say that any life is priceless and cannot be valued.
Either by another life or money.

Hold on a second... Who's hand are they dying of? Asked yourself that question?
American soldiers don't walk around killing innocent people, terrorists do.
I rest my case.
