Actually, the only part of it that was ever in Texas was the panhandle.
The area that is today Oklahoma (minus the panhandle) was originally Arkansas until 1824 when the territory was divided into the Arkansas Territory and Indian Lands. In 1828 it was further divided establishing the modern border between Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Arkansas was admitted to the union in 1836 and Oklahoma 1907.
