The police where I live are useless. There is only one and he is always on his day off or his lunch break or whatever. I have only ever seen him in his uniform once in about 3 years. If you call the police in the next town they don't give a toss. Nobody here really bothers with the police any more, if something is really serious the local men will deal with it themselves, if it is not too serious we just let it be, it's live and let live.

good on the whole. they could always do more but it is very difficult policing british people nowadays because we have lost all ability / confidence to police ourselves, so minor anti - social behaviour becomes something that the police are expected to deal with and because the scum are not challenged they grow in confidence, act more anti - socially and for longer and more frequently. when they are eventually challenged their cannabis fuelled paranoia leads them to believe that they are under attack and they stab or shoot the law abiding citizen that is only doing what we all should be able to do ie. asking someone to desist from anti - social behaviour in the vicinity of their homes. police arriving on the scene will disperse them before the police even get to give them a lecture but that just moves the problem somewhere else. knowing that their behaviour is unacceptable to decent people is more important and hopefully more effective, or am i naive ?

Given that every emergency service in England has been reduced to the minimum of staff I think we have good policing in my area..North East England.

here in northern Ireland its terrible. you can never find a copper unless you are 5 mph over the speed limit. the psni are also used as a political football by both sides of the political spectrum. we have a decent chief constable in Hugh Orde but he's only using the psni as a steeping stone to the chief constables job at the met.

We never see any policemen on the beat. We see and hear police cars screeching by at night, that's all. Our police station is open part-time and to call them is impossible unless you go via another districts switchboard. Draw your own conclusions.

They either show up hours too late or they don't show up at all. I saw a policewoman on television and she said that the cops were too scared to go into certain areas. The criminals must be laughing at them, they're not too scared to commit crimes.

no i dont think so because they shot first ans ask questions later.
i think instead of them saying be in the house and off the streets at 10 is stupid, because now people are just killing earlier in the
day. i say they start patrolling around the neighbor hound on a regular schedule. they need to chill out though.
