Many observers are now calling the violence in Iraq a "civil war." If it is a civil war, and the U.S. leaves in the next 18 months for that reason, what is the long term outcome in Iraq? And what are the consequences for the United States and the international community?

why should we have to live in fear of flying, travelling etc. The government should stand up and put a stop to it. They're not doing anything genuinely practical for the long term problem of terrorism. surely we'd all be safer and happier if the governement did this instead of pussyfooting around.

How then can we beat this enemy by warfare, when their attitude is thus?

I see a lot of people claiming to be conservatives calling people stupid, saying that liberals don't live in reality etc. What does conservative mean, and what does liberal mean.

'In an intelligent fashion' means: actually describe it in a way that is neutral, and not "liberals are weak, conservatives are smarter". That would just be useless to me, and probably show that you aren't really very smart at all. Thanks for helping me out, Im in Australia, and find it hard to understand you guys sometimes!!!

Do social scientists have a formal name for the political technique in which a partisan agent attempts to redefine or shift what is commonly believed to be the center of an issue-axis in a series of barely perceptible steps? For example, one group succeeded in engendering small incremental shifts in public attitude to normalize the idea of school vouchers in a community where previously vouchers had been viewed as an extreme option. Lay terms that come to mind include "framing the discussion" and "redefining the center". I am looking for the scientific term.

Further to an answer I just posted to someone, I was wondering what is the genuinely wierdest thing anyone's been arrested for?

'Drunken Animal Theft' or 'Nudity infront of a Police Station' both sound funny - but has anyone ever done them or funnier??
