My husband was sworn into the Army National Guard on Monday. We've been on this roller coaster for about a year now. He was considering active Army then he took a break from the military for a while then he decided to check out the National Guard. My brother is in the Guard as well. I'm proud of him but at the same time I'm not ready for him to leave us for that long. He's going to leave for basic training in two weeks. What happens now? Anyone else a military spouse? How did you deal with this? He's leaving so soon! I don't know...I guess I'm just a little cautious with him leaving so soon! What do you think?

I read both speech's by The American and the Iranian president. I must say, if you ignore both of their religious rambling then i think Ahmadinejad was the most in touch with reality and the issues facing the world today. Bush seemed to content to try and divide the world into Freedom lovers and Extremists.
What are your thoughts?

We are running out of gas so why take other country's gas. Surely we should all go back to burning wood to keep warm and it should be made compulsory for us all to go solar.

Why is it that Mandella and Michael Collins are seen as Freedom Fighters but if it was anyone else they would be terrorists. Where do we draw the line?

Also how many people think that even though they are breaking the law they will get every thing they want handed to them on silver platter? Amnesty, More government benifits, and everything else? Also do you really think that they will afftect our country in a negative way? What do you see 200 years from now? Will America still be a top Country? Or will there even be America? Is it possible that what La Raza and La Mecha threaten will really happen and they will get there revenge on America? I'm being serious here. What is your prediction of Americas future?

I think it is really "retarded" to leave an old election bumper sticker on your car. What is wrong with these people? Does their boss make them do it?

If white people can't say it then why should they? If we called anyone that then we'd probably be locked up here in the UK! They can say it whenever they want. Just because they call themselves black they think they can use this word and get away with it. It could still be offensive and one black person could be only quarter right. Where's the fairness in that?

I went to a lawyer yesterday, she said if immigration ever comes to your work site DO NOT sign anything, that just waives your rights to see a judge and you automatically get sent back to your home country, if you do not sign anything they give you a letter telling you when to appear before the court in your state and you can plead your case. for instance my husband is mexican and we are having to go to ciudad juarez but inbetween now and then if he gets caught by immigration is is actually a good then b/c then he can plead his case in Atlanta and will not have to go to ciudad juarez if the judge rules in his favor and grants him a green card. it is a good FYI for everyone illegal that is scared of being caught, just do not sign ANYTHING

I was serving an older European looking lady a drink the other day. She had an accent so I asked where she was from. She said America. I said but your accent? She said I've been here so long I forgot where I'm from. Then she winked at me. She looked so cute when she said it she is now one of my favorite guests. Not saying that people should forget where they come from. Just saying if you want to be a citizen then you need to appreciate America. Not come and burn the flag and demand us to change our laws. If you don't do that you are cool in my book. if you don't appreciate America then why come here and disrespect?
