why should we have to live in fear of flying, travelling etc. The government should stand up and put a stop to it. They're not doing anything genuinely practical for the long term problem of terrorism. surely we'd all be safer and happier if the governement did this instead of pussyfooting around.

I agree that we need a firm control on our borders. We could start with troops sitting in bases in Europe. Re-deploy these troops to border area new military bases. Let them patrol the borders as part of their routine training. No amnesty period. Deport all illegals. Sure it would be an inconvenience, but too bad folks (mow your own yard and clean your own homes).

We should also close the sham United Nations. Why should we fund the " I hate America" crowd? Move it to France, where they love to feel important and appease extremists.

Well, why don't you run for office and do something about it? Step up to the plate and make our country safer, do you have a plan, do you have the resources, I thought not. The best thing you can do is work hard in your community to make it a better place to live,, then when you have that conquered,, then branch out to your County and make it a safer place to live, then branch further out and cover your state. People will see what great work you can do and perhaps one day put you into a position that you can 'make a difference' in. Good luck!

Surely you don't truely believe that. You need to stop listening to the media and get out in the world and look for yourself what is going on. There were people from all countries involved with the terrorist attacks. The govt. won't close the borders due to all the money they make off of immigrants. You really need to get out and meet these politicians. You will find out quickly that it's all about the money. If they can't make money off it, then they will do something about it.

Hi, take it easy.
You can't judge a group of people because of there race.
Bring it back down to earth.
If the government did what you said, then all hell would break loose.
The whole Middle East would be against the U.S
The U.S Ally's in the Middle East is on a short list.
They want to keep there Allys and possibly gain some more.

You miss the point.

All the countries where the terrorists come from are rich in natural resources. The West cannot allow these countries to get organised or they will start demanding realistic prices for those resources, rather than us just taking them.

Getting rid of terrorism and unrest would just cost too much.

Unfortunately, it is not as simple as your suggestion.
For example, the borders are not like the door of a room, which can easily be closed and the terrorists are not like persons in the room with identification badges on their person who can be rounded up.
Borders are lengthy and often porous and the terrorists are highly motivated individuals, who generally merge themselves with the local population.
