A mere 12% (maybe a little more) of Americans speak two languages or more.

In Germany, that's 44%.
In Finland, that's a whopping 82%.

Is our "Welcome to America, Now Speak English" campaign going to come back to haunt us soon enough?

The co. opened a new breakroom for us but part of the ceiling was an enclosed hvac duct. It made part of the small room have a ceiling height of about 5` 8`` I came in and took a chair at the provided table. While talking to my fellow security officers, I got an alarm over my radio, telling me to respond asap. I had to acknowledge by phone because radio was forbidden on that sensitive level. I rose quickly ,forgetting the low ceiling banging my hardhat. Though it saved my head from injury, my spine was compressed and I have been out of work on work comp for 3 weeks now. I am an armed nuclear security guard ,that must carry 35lbs. of equipment. I have no previous history of back problems and will lose my job if I cannot recover.

The cable guy came to my house to set up the cable. I was not home at the time but my mother was. I remembered that I had left the camera on my desk so I called my mom to make sure it was still there. She told me the guy returned it saying that he was playing with it and left it in his box by accident. I was relieved that he gave it back to me. However, the next day i realized my USB Cable that connects from the camera to the computer was missing. I totally remembered exactly where I had placed it so i was sure it was gone. I knew he took it. As it turns out he gave my mom his cell phone number so i gave him a call. He told me to call him back on Tuesday and he'll check if he has it. Today is tuesday and he said he DOES have it. But im still waiting no phone call, nothin. If i cant get in contact wit him im gonna call TimeWarnerCable and report this incident.. I want him to face the consequences of his actions. I feel so violated.. I was also wondering if I can report this to the polic

I was in Iraq from 1 APR 03 to 1 APR 04 with 2/2 CAV, when I got back I was "awarded" the Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (GWOTEM) and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. (GWOTSM) Both were put on my ERB at that time... I haven't been deployed since I got back in 04 was checking my ERB the other day and now the Iraq Campaign Medal (ICM) appears on my ERB and my GWOTEM is gone... I didn't ask to switch the medals!!! I've already got the GWOTEM medal and my rack is set... whats up with that??? should I ditch my GWOTEM medal? if I go back to Iraq anytime soon I'll be eligible for the ICM then... can I wear both the GWOTEM and the ICM then? Crap... I gotta go get another DA PHOTO...

If not then what gives anyone the right to tell a woman whether or not she can have an abortion or not. An abortion is a MEDICAL PROCEDURE that should be discussed only btwn patient and doctor.
I am AGAINST abortion and would NEVER get one, but I would NEVER want anyone to go thru my medical records and dictate to me what i should or should not do with myself. It is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. I am AGAINST abortion but I AM PRO CHOICE because i am not here to judge. ONLY GOD judges.

It is on various governments around the world(democracy, communism, anarchy, etc.). I was absent the day it was told to the class so i was left with the last remaining goverment and that was "dictatorship". So the point of the project is to make a poster showing why dictatorship is the best form of goverment over all the rest. I have searched the internet through yahoo and google and came up with only BAD things about dictatorships. So if anyone has any urls to sites that have useful things promoting Dictatorship as a good government then please post them here or if anyone knows of any thoughts of why it is a better form of goverment TELL ME PLEASE!

Thanks

Since Bush became Presiden of the United States, did you think overall he did a good job? To this day, why did we attack Iraq since Saddam Hussein has nothing to do with the 9/11.

You've seen all of gwb22's questions. Would you say that he is racist against hispanics? Being Puerto Rican should I be offended by him? Let me know what you think about him. Don't hold anything back because trust me I have my own feelings about him too, and he is not the nicest person out there!

My father and grandfather were life-long Democrats. They were blue collar, union-belonging, steel factory workers, with traditional American values and attitudes. My father says he can't stand Republicans, yet culturally he has more in common with them than he does with the Dems. Since both parties are beholden to big business and powerful lobbyists, he doesn't really have a party anymore.

I am a Republican, I come from Atlantis. I was the one who shot Kennedy because I was mad because he wanted to pull the troops out of Nam. I have also rode shot gun on the Loch Ness monster. Me and my Republican friends believe the best way to improve troop morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans benefits and combat pay.

We believe in providing health care to all Iraqi's is good , providing health care to all Americans is socialism. I and my republican friends believe a President who lie's about getting a hummer is a impeachable offense. A President lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

WE believe Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

Trade with Cuba is wrong because they're communist, but trade with China is o.k.

Please vote Republican?
