The cable guy came to my house to set up the cable. I was not home at the time but my mother was. I remembered that I had left the camera on my desk so I called my mom to make sure it was still there. She told me the guy returned it saying that he was playing with it and left it in his box by accident. I was relieved that he gave it back to me. However, the next day i realized my USB Cable that connects from the camera to the computer was missing. I totally remembered exactly where I had placed it so i was sure it was gone. I knew he took it. As it turns out he gave my mom his cell phone number so i gave him a call. He told me to call him back on Tuesday and he'll check if he has it. Today is tuesday and he said he DOES have it. But im still waiting no phone call, nothin. If i cant get in contact wit him im gonna call TimeWarnerCable and report this incident.. I want him to face the consequences of his actions. I feel so violated.. I was also wondering if I can report this to the polic

Why not first call Time Warner and complain to them? They will certainly be interested to hear how their representative behaved while in your home. Tell them also that he has your camera cable........

The first incident along with the second incident would assist the police in showing that the person had the intend and did take your items without permission.

You should report it to both the local police and the company that employed the person. The police may be able to match the suspect in your case with thefts from other company customers.

Yes.
Make a report to the police (don't call 911 unless it is an emergency---this is not an emergency). It may be difficult to prove this case, and it may not go to court BUT it will become a part of public record. It will show up every time he applies for a job if they do a background check.

Also, report this to the company he works for. This probably isn't his first time doing this. Your complaint may help someone else avoid this kind of theft.

The cable is not particuarly valuable, so I don't know what kind of legal case you could file. But even so, you should always go to the police if someone, especially a professional, takes something from your house. And of course contact his employer and provide as much information as you can.
