this war is being fought exactly to plan ... because the plan is to remain in the middle east indefinitely until all the oil is secured ... thats only one of the main goals though because there are several including money generated by military/arms sales and a strategic move against a strengthening China ...the whole militarization of the middle east is part of the vision of the PNAC and "pax americana" .. so, anyway, we need an excuse to stay in the middle east and "terrorism" and controlled unrest are just what the doctor ordered so-to-speak.

If the US had it's way, when the original 13 were states or Commonwealths, we would be speaking German anyway!! German as an Official Language of the US only missed by one vote!

If the revolutionary war wasn't fought like this one is being fought(insurgency of occupation) wouldnt we still be English right now?

Yes, because then we cared more about defeating evil at all costs rather than making sure all countries like us. And we signed a treaty where we would not use nukes.

the two wars are not the same, the Germans were a strong conventional force which could be easily combated. while insurgents in Iraq are criminals and cowards who do not even attempt to fight, instead planting roadside bombs, and killing civilians in mosques and marketplaces
