My significant other went to Iraq in 2003- 2004 and I was sooo proud of him. We are getting ready to move and last night I was packing some things and I found a note from when he was deployed written by another woman. She eluded in the note that he had sent her an e mail suggesting that they get together in private. He was a Captain at that time and had to be very careful. She basically told him she understood his position about needing to be private. She also told him she was saddened that he was leaving to go home soon, which suggests to me that this happened before he came home. Prior to him going to Iraq, we had been in a committed (or I thought we were) relationship for seven years. Now we are going on nine years and I am pregnant with our first child due in December. I am sick about this as I had no idea. I asked him and he blew it off, saying that it was a joke and that he didn't even remember who she was, even though she signed her name and told me he loves me.

Uribe seeks to legitimize the terror tactics that the right has long used against union members and leaders of popular organizations.
Officially, U.S. helicopters and surveillance are backing 18,000 Colombian troops as they target “narco-terrorists.” “But the Washington-backed offensive has another motive, oil and military authorities say, one that Colombian and American officials only gingerly discuss: to make potentially oil-rich regions safe for exploration by private companies and the government-run oil company,” the New York Times reported last month.

The US is actively supporting terrorists in Columbia, how does this sit with the so-called "War of Terror"?

People who work regular jobs and celebrities and comedians all act as if they have accomplished more than our President. seems a little odd for someone like George Carlin to catergorize Bush as stupid. look who's talking.

Why are they caving into Clinton so easily in regards to the upcoming mini-series “The Path to 9/11”? Does he have something on them or do they feel somehow threatened?

Over the past five years only a handful of al Qaeda figures, most notably Khalid Sheik Mohammad, the reported coordinator of the 9/11 attacks, has been picked up. Most al-qaeda suspects have been picked up in Pakistan's teeming cities. Not hiding in caves. It (Pakistan) is becoming a principal al Qaeda hub of operation. London bombers Shahzad Tanwer and Mohammad Sediq Khan came here for training and to record their suicide messages before their July 7 attack in 2005. Their messages were later released by al Qaeda's video production arm, As Sahab, apparently a Pakistan-based operation. And this year the arrests in London in August over the suspected multiple hijacking plot came after a British Pakistani was arrested here. Credit to Nic Robertson - CNN
My question is this: Why is the U.S. helping a country that seems to be harboring Osama and Al Qaeda? Americans seem to look the other way and ask why isn't more being done? Is anyone asking this simple yet vital question to Congress?

50 percent of immigrants emigrated from the “Americas” (North, Central and South America and the Caribbean), according the Population Resource Center. Just half of these migrated from Mexico, less than from Asia (about 26 percent). Fifteen percent come from Europe.

Despite the right’s rhetoric, immigrants play a critical, irreplaceable role in the U.S. economy.

I'm guessing that it's some kind of childish way to show disrespect. I say that it's completely inappropriate and done by ignorant and unpatriotic "people." Regardless of politics, how does anyone justify such anti-American thinking and behavior?

I just saw at KTVU web site, that FDA fined Red Cross 4.2 Million Dollars for violating blood safety laws.
Red Cross is a non profit organization supported by people's donations. These donations meant for spending for people in need, not to pay for Red Crosss's legal fees of fines.
Wouldn't it be better if they invastigate and convict Red Cross employees who did the crime and fire them and put them in jail, instead of taking Red Cross funds?

Isn't it funny? When CBS wanted to air a "Docu-Drama" that was not favorable to Ronald Reagan, the Republicans had no problem with censorship when they went crazy and pressured CBS to pull it. Now that it's the Democrats trying to stop something critical of Bill Clinton and suddenly the Republicans are all about free speech. What's up with that?

Personally I think this 9/11 program is crap and as someone who lost a good friend in the South Tower I think it's offensive. However, I also think ABC should air it and let the American Public see it for the Karl Rove propaganda it is.

Osama bin Laden's still free, global anti-U.S. feelings are rampant, our military is stretched thin. The administration's war planners are yesterday's men: They talk tough, but they never learned the lessons of Vietnam, much less the lessons of 9/11.

ABC is planning to run this 9/11 “Docu-Drama” without commercial interruption which means it will be basically a free Republican infomercial. If there is a Liberal bias, why would ABC do this?

On the 25 anniversary of his sons brutal sexual assault and dismemberment John Walsh got to have the Adam Walsh Law signed into Federal law. On Fox News John Walsh said, "This now means that their will now be a sex offender registry in every State, even the liberal States that don`t want to have sex offender registries. Mandatory collection of DNA of sex offenders in even the liberal states that are against collection of DNA. It will solve thousands of cold cases of rape and molestations and 500 new Marshals on the street and 55 new FBI agents." It has been a 3 year fight in Congress but now it is law. With in the first few The law has already caught one child sex offender who fled from CA. and was caught in LA. because States are sharing information. He was caught with Child porn and was up to his old ways. It is now a federal beef for sex offenders to flee across State lines instead of a just misdemeanor.
