I got a ticket when i made a left turn into a left hand turning lane. There was a sign that said right turn only but theres was nothing coming and it was at night so i thought that it would be okay.
FYI: I turned into the lane from a plaza parking lot.

A left turn in a right turn only is just that no matter what. Even without any traffic you still broke the rule. That's like going 120 on the freeway at 2am and say well there's nobody on it. That's gonna be a tough one to beat.

Cry, just a little! Tell the truth and ask if they offer traffic school. In some jurisdictions showing up when the officer does not will do the trick but not always. In most cases it will mean that you will need to appear several times. The exceptions seem to be when the officer(s) from that Department have a history of not showing up and the judge is unhappy with them.
