Over the past five years only a handful of al Qaeda figures, most notably Khalid Sheik Mohammad, the reported coordinator of the 9/11 attacks, has been picked up. Most al-qaeda suspects have been picked up in Pakistan's teeming cities. Not hiding in caves. It (Pakistan) is becoming a principal al Qaeda hub of operation. London bombers Shahzad Tanwer and Mohammad Sediq Khan came here for training and to record their suicide messages before their July 7 attack in 2005. Their messages were later released by al Qaeda's video production arm, As Sahab, apparently a Pakistan-based operation. And this year the arrests in London in August over the suspected multiple hijacking plot came after a British Pakistani was arrested here. Credit to Nic Robertson - CNN
My question is this: Why is the U.S. helping a country that seems to be harboring Osama and Al Qaeda? Americans seem to look the other way and ask why isn't more being done? Is anyone asking this simple yet vital question to Congress?

Yes..Osama is in Pakistan... Pakistan has been supporting the US...because of the aid money that it gets from US. Pakistan's support for US was just an excuse to keep the US military away from Pakistani soil. Now considering that the hunt for Osama has gone down a little with more focus on Iraq...Pakistan is making peace treaties with Al Qaeda and protecting them. I guess...either US is really stupid in believing Pakistan...or they just don't care about Osama any more.

Osama is most likely in the caves and tribal areas of Northern Pakistan. These tribes, many of which are loyal to Bin Laden's cause are semi-autonomus, as the Pakistani government's reach of power doesn't extend to their lands. Other suspects that have been caught in Pakistan are from there, and had established bases there. Bin Laden came over from Afganistan after the fall of the Taliban. Further evidence of Bin Laden being in Northern Pakistan is that in one of his videos, there are trees in the background that are native only too the area around the Pakistan-China border, not too far from the Afganistan border.

Why is the BUSH ADMINISTRATION helping Pakistan?
Truthfully...when Bush's time is up in a few years, he needs to be ushered out of the US and into Iraq.
There he should be forced to rebuild their country since he's so hell-bent on destroying ours!

Pakistan has caught some of the terrorists.
If they try too hard, they may be overthrown by Muslim Extrements.
What do you think we should do?
