Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he, too, is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there.
It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for, well, you know.
And what a deal it is for me!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being an
anti-housebreaker. Oh yeah, I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me.
Why can't people see how ridiculous this is? Only in America!

Mexicans aren't the main immigrants to the U.S. but they are the main ILLEGAL immigrants to the U.S. As Americans we LOVE immigrants and believe criminals should be brought to justice. Every illegal alien in the country is a criminal because they broke the law when entering and continue to break the law each and every day in which they stay. There is nothing racist about wanting the law of the land enforced.

I notice you did not seperate "illegal" from "legal".
But, to add gas to your fire. Most Asian immigrants are well schooled in the science and math departments. And speak fairly decent english.
Many of these "asians" return to their homelands, after being in the US for several years and perfecting their skills. Sure, they take some of our tech and services with them, but we actually get a return on our $$$. Unlike the Billions of dollars going south every year that are not spent in the US and taxed for a 2nd and 3rd time. Or even the first for that matter.
Your comment about "the right" is as far off base as any I've seen. These clowns are trying to truck them in.

There Are More Than 20 Million ILLEGAL ALIENS In The USA
85 Percent Are MEXICAN CITIZENS
15 Percent Are OTM From ALL OTHER NATIONS COMBINED
I Agree
immigrants play a critical, irreplaceable role in the U.S. economy.
There Are 300 Million Taxpaying American Consumers
Nearly 40 Percent Are IMMIGRANTS
6.6 Percent (20 Million ILLEGAL ALIENS)
Are A DYSFUNCTIONAL Part Of Our Society
$$39 BILLION Dollars -With a B-
is sent back to their own nation ANNUALLY-
In effect,
they are LOOTING the Treasury of the United States
as surely as if they went to Fort Knox
and loaded up all our gold bullion on trucks
and drove to Tijuana with it.
The Invaders are also TAKING more
in the way of SOCIAL SERVICES
(HEALTH, EDUCATION, and WELFARE)
Than they pay into the System.
This is so, because many of them work under the table
and **Don't Pay Income Taxes,**
The TAXPAYING CITIZENS
(Thats YOU Folks)
Are Supporting Them
These Invaders are causing a BLEEDING in the System.
As invaders,
they're NOT Playing by the same rules as the Citizens.
This leads to a WEAKENING of Our Nations ECONOMY.
Think Of It As "ECONOMIC TERRORISM"
A close, personal friendship with President George W. Bush
has given Mexicos President Vicente Fox
the opportunity to purposely allow
(or even send)
Millions of Criminals, Thugs, Anarchists,
and Potential Terrorists to swarm over our southern border
in breathtaking numbers.
ILLEGAL ALIENS Enter Our Nation At The Staggering Rate Of
Nearly 10,000 Per DAY
Over Our Southern US / Mexico Border
More Than half of all illegal aliens currently living in the U.S.
(About 12 Million)
came here since Bush became president in 2000.

Yes, legal immigrants play a vital role in the US economy--and we are grateful and happy to have them here. The illegals (from ANYWHERE) tend to drain our economy and flaunt our laws and that is why they need to go back to their own countries. As for the bigots, you are never going to change someone who believes a certain race is inferior. People who oppose ILLEGAL ALIENS (who break are laws and hate America--yet want all our entitlements) are not all bigots.

I don't know where you got your figures, but they are clearly wrong.
The vast majority of immigrants (not just 50%) into this country (I mean illegal immigrants), are hispanic, and almost all of those are from Mexico.
As for legal immigrants, your figures might be right, but I know they are not right for all immigrants taken together.
I guess you're right. . they DO play an irreplacable role in our economy and our country.
Without them, we won't be destroyed within 10 years, so I guess they ARE necessary.
Sorry, we just can't afford to give away our country to anyone and everyone that wants to sneak across the border. If we could, we'd be happy to, but we can't. . and as the economy slows down, that will be more and more obvious to even the Democrats.

The first few answers about said it all.
To the people who argued the American Indians were here before us... EXACTLY, A nation must protect it's borders from invasion in order to survive or be defeated!!!
To the people who said all our ancestors were immigrants... Yes... They worked hard, colonized and developed a nation of wide-open spaces in hopes of a better life FOR THEIR FUTURE GENERATIONS. Our nation now has a HUGE prison population. Wages and benefits are being lowered due to a labor-flooded market and overpopulation. Crime is increasing. More illegals than jobs is a HUGE part of that. This hurts American workers. There is NOTHING noble about BREAKING THE LAW AND SHREDDING THE CONSTITUTION, hurting your own children to aid ILLEGAL FOREIGN INVADERS at the expense of your own people. This is actually called TREASON. It's DISGUSTING. If you're for this, It's only because you believe the propaganda and lies spread by our disgustingly corrupt corporate-controlled government who are using these illegals as a financial weapon against American workers, to lower their pay while increasing executive compensation and corporate profits to RECORD LEVELS.
WAKE UP BLEEDING HEARTS!!! YOU'RE CAUSING THE SUFFERING OF YOUR OWN CHILDREN BECAUSE THE PROPAGANDA TELLS YOU IT'S GOOD. YOU'RE SICK!!!
Honestly... Due to the swarm of illegals already here causing big problems with crime due to overpopulation... Due to the fact too many jobs pay near the poverty level due to the treason outsourcing and hiring of immigrants at below legal wages... We don't need any more immigrants at all at this time. Legal or illegal... To be fair we should certainly be shipping out the invaders and replacing some of them with legal immigrants.

Why can't people like you understand that the issue is not about immigrants. Americans welcome immigrants, our society was built by immigrants. That is not the issue. The issue is Illegal Aliens streaming across the border undocumented and taxing our support systems to the tune of 68 billions dollars a year. What is it that you find so hard to understand? I typed real slow, so hopefully this will sink in.

You have reason, but why the Mexican ones always ask?, for example in Spain they ask that there should be returned to them the favors (money) that there did on having received immigrants Spansih when we had dictatorship, to The United States that open the borders themselves.
That more you desire?
