Let me rephrase the question.

Do you trust the police and military to be the only non-criminals who are armed?

No matter who comes into power,
or what kind of laws are passed?

Even if it's "improbable" nowadays, WHAT IF the state uses its exclusive lethal force to promote injustice?
What do/can you do?

Whether you are for or against the views of these people, do you feel it's apropriate to be speaking like this durring a time of war?

Just kind of curious...

INVASION USA
AK-47-wielding home invaders illegal aliens
South Texas teen held for drive-by shooting, sexual assault

One of two teen-agers arrested in South Texas for a string of home invasions while wielding AK-47s has been identified as an illegal alien, previously deported who lied about his age being tried as an adult for the attacks, which also include a drive-by shooting and a sexual assault.

The sheriff's department in the Rio Grande Valley now believes one of the attackers is a 19-year-old adult and not the 16-year-old juvenile he claimed when he was arrested. His accomplice is believed to be 16.

The suspect's fingerprints matched that of a 19-year-old Mexican national who had been previously deported for illegally entering the country, said Sheriff Lupe Treviño.

Treviño added the teen had illegally entered the country two other times under an alias and used a birth date saying he was a minor to avoid incarceration and prosecution for multiple illegal entries.

Treviño said the 16-year-old is also an illegal immigrant from Mexico.

The two suspects were arrested Aug. 10 in connection with a 24-hour crime wave that included three home invasions, a drive-by shooting and a sexual assault. Treviño said the teens entered the three homes with what victims identified as AK-47 assault rifles.

The two are each facing possible charges of attempted murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated sexual assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

I didn’t realize how right Democratic leaders were about this culture of corruption thing in our congress. But what they forgot to say is that the most egregious perpetrators are in fact Democrats!

Imagine taking money from a terrorist group! An honest mistake? It’s so hard to tell since we know that Democrats believe that when they accept dirty money it actually becomes clean. You know, like turning water into wine.

WASHINGTON - Illinois congressman Danny Davis and an aide took a trip to Sri Lanka last year that was paid for by the Tamil Tigers, a group that the U.S. government has designated as a terrorist organization for its use of suicide bombers and child soldiers, law enforcement sources said. ~mercurynews.com

If there's anything more telling than the corruption and hypocrisy of Democrats it's the feigned innocence and pathetic denial of Democrats talking about a purely 'Republican' culture of corruption. But 'five-term Democratic congressman' Mr. Davis says he had no idea! Gasp!! Absolutely no idea at all that these funds could have come from the Tamil Tigers, a terrorist organization based in Sri Lanka.

Davis' seven-day trip came under new scrutiny this week following the arrests of 11 supporters of the organization on charges of participating in a broad conspiracy to support the terrorist group through money laundering, arms procurement and bribery of U.S. officials.

The five-term Democratic congressman said he was unaware that the Tigers paid for the trip and on his required congressional disclosure form he reported that the trip was paid for by a Hickory Hills, Ill.-based Tamil cultural organization, the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America. ~mercurynews.com

Who could have guessed that taking a trip to Sri Lanka funded by the Tamil Tigers 'cultural organization' could possibly mean taking money from a terrorist organization. Why, I might have made the same mistake myself if I were in 'five-term Democratic congressman' Mr. Davis's shoes. I'm not sure what I would have to ignore to be that oblivious, or how ignorant I would have to be about Sri Lanka and the terrorist group I would be taking money from, but certainly I could make the same mistake... or could I?

In this same article we also learn that the 'five-term Democratic congressman' Mr. Davis went on this trip and -- hullo? -- met with the leaders of this terrorist organization!

During the visit, Davis spent most of his time in a region controlled by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, as the group is formally known, and visited the organization's political headquarters. He also met with a police chief for the region appointed by the Tigers. ~mercurynews.com
Everybody makes mistakes, right?

Or perhaps this is all part of Bush's campaign of terror. Knowing that Democrats like 'five-term Democratic congressman' Mr. Davis would willingly support terrorists, Bush probably concocted the whole 9/11 attack in order to persecute the aforesaid 'five-term Democratic congressman' Mr. Davis. Who knows, anything is possible.

But didn't, "The five-term Democratic congressman," say, "he was unaware that the Tigers paid for the trip..."? But then later on in this article he's quoted as saying the following:

Davis said he always assumed that the organization had a connection with the Tamil Tigers.

"I knew that they were associated with the Tamil Tigers, yes," he said. ~mercurynews.com

Boy, I just don't know what to believe anymore.

Could the U.S. state of Alaska be able to sufficiently operate as its own independent country, if it was possible?

I'm not a resident of Alaska, and I don't favor Alaskan independence, just that I am merely curious to know if that would be possible; even though, the state cannot leave the union of the United States.

If we don't ban guns, anyone will be able to have them, but not everyone will.

If we do ban guns, then almost no one will be able to have them, but BY DEFINITION, there will be no law-abiding citizen with a gun.

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE QUESTION:
Also, if we ban them, should we enforce the ban with guns, or without guns?
Should the government be the exclusive legal wielders of lethal force?
I dare anyone to show me how the choice is anything but this:
Gun control means: Mob, gangs, hired thugs, police, military have guns.
No gun control means mob, gangs, hired thugs, police, military, and YOU!

I went to MEPS 8 years ago and got permanently disqualified for my ears and hearing. However, a few months ago i talked to a recruiter which told me that it would be no problem getting me in. I was a little skeptical, but I lost 45 pounds and went to MEPS any ways. I passed all the test for the exception of the weight. I was 4 pounds over. The MEPS doctors told me that all i had to do was lose the weight and im in. the thing is when i went to the physical they didnt even look in my ears, they didnt look in my mouth, nor did they even check any of the hernia repairs and scars that i have on my stomach. i remember the first time i went to MEPS and the checked everything. Is this unusual? I mean, since i was permanently disqualified i would have thought they would have been all over me because of my ears. but they didnt even check them. so i guess if they told me that all i have to do is lose the four pounds and every thing else will take care of itself. Right? oristhereawayicouldfail?

My wife and I were watching a documentary on 9/11 and after watching I realized that blame for the tragic events that day do not belong to the Democrats or should I say Pres. Clinton. The events that day were from the result of miscommunication, no communication, bad military choices on Pres. Clinton's choice and Pres. Bush's cabinet not being able to put the pieces together. Did you know that Pres. Clinton and his cabinet knew when and where Osama Bin Laden was going to be in 1999 but because a United Arab of Emirates Prince was in the camp meeting with him he decided not blow his *** up because of political reasons. Just think 9/11 may not have happened if Pres. Clinton wasn't a pussy. All in all there were alot of people to blame including Pres. Bush. Me personally I feel it is time to stop placing blame on people for what happened. That is why after this I will stop blaming people for 9/11. Do you think it is time to stop blaming people and try to work together as a nation?

Between Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush, which President of the United States would you want to eat dinner with at your favorite restaurant and why and what would you like to discuss?

As much as I approve of George W. Bush, I would choose Jimmy Carter over George W. Bush because Carter and I are from Georgia and I probably would want to eat at a Barbeque restaurant and talk Georgia History with Jimmy Carter.

Texas Immigration Proposal Draws Protest

Associated Press Writer

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas

Clutching American flags and signs that read "America was formed by immigrants," more than 300 protesters on Saturday denounced a city proposal that would prohibit landlords from leasing to illegal immigrants.
About two dozen counter-protesters staged a demonstration nearby.

The proposal by City Councilman Tim O'Hare would also make it tougher for illegal immigrants to work in the Dallas suburb, penalize businesses that employ undocumented workers and make English the city's official language.

Protesters branded the proposal a racist initiative that would single out Hispanics, who make up about 37 percent of the city's population, according to U.S. Census Bureau figures from 2000.

"If we're of a certain color, they're going to point their finger at us," said Jose Gomez, a 42-year-old naturalized citizen.

Organizers of the rally emphasized that immigrants, regardless of status, pay taxes when they shop, rent or buy a home in Farmers Branch.

Families with children and college students rallied in temperatures topping 100 degrees.

O'Hare, who was not seen at the rally, and a city spokesman did not immediately return calls to The Associated Press.

Counter-protesters carried signs reading "I place all persons in the USA illegally under citizen's arrest" and "Como se Dice illegal en Espanol?", which translates to "How do you say illegal in Spanish?"

Supporters of the proposal said the measure would address problems with health care, education and crime in the city.

"They're taking our jobs, our homes," said Debbie Rawlins, 48. "There's unemployment partly because of the Hispanics. The lady that took my job is Hispanic and she's bilingual."

City Council members heard from constituents earlier this week on whether Farmers Branch should approve the measures, but no decision was made.
