Even in the 50's there was a migrant worker program (Brasarios). It is true that imigration is what is proping up the California population. In the last few years, Americans are leaving faster than they're coming in. California used to be a staunch conserviative state, back when we had budget surpluses. Now it's a welfare state & many of us are leaving.
When only immagrants populate the state, you'll have to pay for you own welfare checks. I'm taking the mega bucks my real estate has appriciated & bailing! I've already aranged to buy several hundred acres of prime land for less than I'll sell my house & apt building. Then you'll be at the mercy of the Armenians. They aren't going to give you the $$ that they could get in thier own welfare check.

First of all, in order to be successful you need English. Those "hispanic" Senators and Congressmen you speak of certainly do know English and you should too.

You need to know what it means to immigrate to America. It means to assimilate into the American Society.

Nice try, but as an IMMIGRATION paralegal I know half of what you have written is total NONSENSE!!! First of all, in order to get ANY kind of government assistance, you MUST have a social security number. SECONDLY, illegals do NOT get food stamps and benefits. I know, I have some that are my clients and we can't even get them DRIVERS license so they can go to WORK.
THIRDLY, MOST Mexicans I have been in contact with are the most hardworking, decent people in this world. They take all the crap jobs no one else wants to do. Sure, they send money back to Mexico, but it's to take care of their families there. MOST of them want to live and work in the US for about 5 years, and send as much money as they can back to Mexico. With the poverty level there, and the exchange rate of Dollar to Peso, most can RETIRE and live like KINGS after a few short years of working in the US. If you are for real... and I SERIOUSLY doubt you are... YOU are in the minority of your AMIGOS who come here. MOST have too much PRIDE to take anything without working for it.
