This person is incredibly full of BS.
Like it or not, there is definitely such a thing as American culture, tradition and language. Yes, most of us came from immigrant stock, or from Native Americans, or a mix thereof, but we've all managed to assimilate, blend into one nationality, and carry a distinctly American identity.
For my own family, it would be absurd to claim that life here in America is just the same as life in the old country. And why is that? Because American and Italian culture are two very different things. Not the same at all.
No American traditions? I suppose it was the Chinese who invented Thanksgiving and the 4th of July (just to name two uniquely Americanized holidays). And visitors from a wide array of countries come to this nation in search of the American culture that your online buddy claims that we don't even possess. As for language, ask any Englishman if American English is the same as British English, and he'll probably recognize enough of a difference to laugh in your face.
I could go on, but why bother responding to such a patently ridiculous set of statements?

We may be made up of many people but American definitely has its own culture. We have our English Language (which every other's countries encyclopedia will tell you is English). We have a history of the start of this Nation. We have our own government. We have our own Art and Dance (any Museum will have an American Art room). We have what you call the American Dream-and others acknowledge it. And baseball and American Pie. We have our own traditions and holidays. We have Uncle Sam and Mickey Mouse-famous everywhere. We are top notch in entertainment. We have our own American foods. We have pop and rock (music all are own). We have laws and a governing system. And we have the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance. We have a couple of the Wonders of the World (Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon.)We have our own army. We have borders. The list could go on and on and on and on and on and on.
I think some are jealous of this country so bad they try to pick and pick. It is a shame because we as a Nation like people. Why anyone would want to come and change it is beyond me. I think we have done well with this system. It created a Great Nation that others are bent on destroying with their foolish pride and selfishness. It is a shame our goverment now is so afraid of being popular they won't stand up and speak the truth. That includes many here with their pickeness of the laws that made this country strong. Now some think we are to hard on criminals of all sorts. Pity.

At one point America was a melting pot. Not many people shared common interests but they came together to make a culture of their own. There are people like me who do not have another culture. I am a born America (modern not native) This being said, America has a culture of its own. People have been here enough generations for this to be so. I welcome any immigrant as an America just so long as they can speak the language that has become "native" to the country.

American culture was forged by creating one of E. Pluribus Unum, or Out of Many, One. We created an identity for ourselves that until recently has been very strong. Only with the socialist ideas of multiculturalism and trying to change the ideals of the melting pot culture to the salad bowl culture has America faltered. The failure of Europe in its immigration policies should be a warning to all Americans that we cannot live as a plural society that all nations that do are doomed to failure.
The American culture was mostly English and always has been owever the mix of all the different cultures here has left us with something different from Britain.
the maost damaging thing one can do is to gloss over thier own horrendous deeds in history and blame others for what is wrong, while avoiding responsibility.
All over the world countries have been broken up because of ethnic tension; Yugoslavia, Ethipia, the Soviet Union held together though fear, African nations are regularly commiting genocide, Spain and France have had troubles with there Islamic populations as well as Britain. In America hundreds of thousands of foriegners march through our streets demanding the same rights as we would give our citizens.
America, has a language a culture, and traditions. Our language is ENGLISH, our culture is distinctly our own, and our traditions are ours to share. So whoever wrote that is full of it, and can spend some time digging my boot of of his/her...

In South America the language is predominately Spanish, in North America it is English.
We have many cultures here because we have a little of the best from all countries. Our traditions come both from our forefathers in England and our many immigrants from all countries and continents.
And all these people live here in harmony. It must be a pretty good place. We don't have to build a fence to keep our citizens in, and we have a list of millions wanting to get in here ;)

Its not true. Every country started from immigrants. Because humans migrated from one place, and from those places to new places.
Tradition, language, culture, all these things are suggestive and dependent on the area and the people who live there. Its a very fluid concept, and even those things that we consider traditions or culture change from generation to generation.
Traditions are created, cultures are founded, languages are formed, all of these things from a begining of seemingly nothing but social chaos.
So no, I think thats nothing more than a bunch of ignorant bull crap, writen by someone who thinks theyre above traditions, culture, and language, because they obviously dont know how to be involved in them.
These things are around us all the time, theyre created and formed around us all the time.

America has a history full of traditions, and English is the language. True, English is losing out to Spanish, but that is our own fault. We keep providing everything is Spanish, including the written driver's test and voters ballots, even the naturalization test.
Don't get me wrong, I understand that English is a tough language to learn, but if you're going to live here for a period of years or permanently learn the language.
If we went to another country, you don't think they would provide everything in English for us, do you?
As for our traditions. Thanksgiving. 4th of July. Memorial Day. I would add Christmas to the list, but it isn't allowed to be called that anymore because of complaints that it isn't ethnically correct, so now it's just "winter holiday." Oddly, Kwanza and other holidays are allowed.

If there may be one element he's no longer it is a guy of god as maximum hearth and brimstone preachers.

America is a melting pot. It has no true traditions, language, or culture, unless you count the native americans. Everything about the U.S. was influenced from an outside source, even if the creator was american, they had a certain background that lead to the creation of something. Some things may have a majority to others, like language for example, but nothing is truly american.
