According to the news today, widows of those killed in Iraq recieve a whopping $25,000 a year from the government, with $12,000 of that coming from the VA!

They are currently going to reduce the military widows benefits by the amout the VA pays, or $12,000! That leaves Iraq military widows with $11,000 dollars a year to live on! Then the Government only has to give $1,000 a year!

You really think the government gives a S__T about vets, especially those who gave their lives???

Do you think a Iraq military widow should have to live, or do you think, like many Republicans, that she should shut up and go get a job?

Can you live on $11,000 a year?

What are you going to do about it? Your usual NOTHING?

My dad says he recalls a time when JROTC kids and spouses of military members would go around selling these yellow ribbons duirng the start of the war to raise money and what not. However it now seems that every Walmart and gas station markets these things for corporate profit.
So did it start like girl scout cookies or has it always been corporate?

I'm supposed to start class at an online school today but can't because Department of Homeland Security cannot verify my citizen status.I was born in Germany but came to this country in 1973.My step father was in the Air Force. In 1978 we went through the Naturalization process in Hartford,Ct.My parents divorced and have since lost my naturalization certificate.In 1985 I enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 12yrs as an M.P.including Operation Desert Storm/Shield/Sortie. How is it possible to go through 30yrs In some gov. capacity and then have your Citizenship questioned. No-one questioned it when I was Fighting for this country but now that I need my country It questions whether or not I belong here. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

We have a lot of school leavers and long term unemployed who are claiming benefits. Should they be told that they have to take some of these jobs as fruit pickers hotel cleaners or sandwich makers or no benefits? The trouble is the greedy employers want the asylum workers because they can pay them less. Pay our workers a decent amount of money so that they could afford to go to work and be able to pay their rent etc., and have a worthwhile life and the country would save a lot on benefits payouts. We would not seem like such an easy option for immigrants if these jobs were taken. What do you think?

I think that bush has no option but spend on millitary thanks to terroroist ?

I think bush has no option because the chinese imports are raising current deficit ?

I think bush has no choice if the inflation rates go up and it leads to a slowdown , its the american society that is too be blamed for not saving like the europeans ?

I think bush cannot be blamed if the social security is in problem because of natural demographic ?

People say that iraq is for oil but what about the fact that after afagnistan , iraq was the second base of sunni terror group (al-qaeda) saddam was rich and crazy enough to help them if he could? why cant the so called demo's face the fact that no country lives forever and after some time problems always start coming up.

And please dont write anything about Katreena. USA is not scandinavian country with amazing system , its capitalist where money rules and the poor gets tagged

I was in two corp US Army Abn Inf (central highlands) and we had modern warring machinery. The marines were on the northern lines in I corp and worked with out-of-date weapons. Why did'nt the government give them high tech modern weaponry as well?
