In this day and age,is it more for wanting to fight for the country than it is for the career opportunities the military have?

"What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if the people could not understand it, it could not be released because of national security. And their sense of identification with Hitler, their trust in him, made it easier to widen this gap and reassured those who would otherwise have worried about it.

"Dumbya IS a dictator. He was NEVER elected. Not "all powerful" but in his stupid way he is trying to trash everything that is good and meaningful in the USA for the personal gain and advantage of a small group that enabled his seizure of power that I call the Dumbya Coup. As for Katrina, his advantage is to have a lot of the New Orleans black population who are generally Democrats scattered and not voting there so that Louisiana might actually pick up Repuke Congressional seats. He is a criminal says a Federal judge. By her count Dumbya has broken the law 30 times. A real investigation might show thousands of counts. No investigation will EVER be done while Repukes hold ALL the power in the Fed government. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!"

i thought the people of our country knew more than that. its really sad to see that people that accually think this will be voting for the next president. we need to educate voters around us so no one ends up like this person

Is it true that Libertarians wish to abolish taxes? If so, how do they expect the government to stay intact?

I guess what my question is, what seperates Libertarianism from Anarchism? (Serious answers only Please)

Note: I am not trying to offend anyone, I'm just asking a question and Libertarian answers would be appreciated.

Hi,
I want to buy something off ebay.com the item is a watch worth around £1,500.
Does anyone know how much import duty/tax/VAT they charge when it arrives in the UK? I don't trust asking the seller as they just want to sell you the item.

Thanks

When I talk to Pacifists, it seems like the root of their desire is to 'stop the fighting' at all costs. More often than not, they are willing to accept that pacifism does not directly lead to peace, but they seem to have a hard time accepting the idea that pacifism in some situations, means death. To me, this means that diplomacy and appeasement can accept some of the blame for the innocent loss of lives, just like warmongering and agitation. What do you think?

American constitution. What are the Republicans up to seeking amendments to ban gay marriages and to make it a crime to burn American flag. Is this not pulling the wool over the eyes of the conservative americans fed up with the abysmal failings of the bush administration?

Can you think of any 'foiled terrorist plots' (neocon's and mindless, lapdog media's scare tactic) which occured before 9/11? Isn't it (not) funny that since the nutcases are in danger of losing control of one or both houses of Congress, more 'foiled terrorist plots' surface?

Liberals often lead me to think that you are more loyal to the party than you are to the country. When I stop debating, and start interviewing them, just asking them questions to get a better idea of where they stand, I often get the feeling that they actually loathe America and Americans. One intelligent sounding, well travelled Liberal once said to me, 'America is broken, so it has to be dismantled and reassembled'. Needless to say, when I asked him to explain his position in more detail, I was never satisfied with the answers I got. Eventually, he (like most Liberals I know) had to resort to insults and obfuscation.
