Liberals often lead me to think that you are more loyal to the party than you are to the country. When I stop debating, and start interviewing them, just asking them questions to get a better idea of where they stand, I often get the feeling that they actually loathe America and Americans. One intelligent sounding, well travelled Liberal once said to me, 'America is broken, so it has to be dismantled and reassembled'. Needless to say, when I asked him to explain his position in more detail, I was never satisfied with the answers I got. Eventually, he (like most Liberals I know) had to resort to insults and obfuscation.

No! You can go back and read every one of my answers, I have never resorted to insults. However, I have often been called a democrap, a libetard, told that I hate America, that I love terrorist and criminals, that I'm uneducated (have a master's degree), and my most favorite response that I get most often is that Clinton had an affair. Well, so did Bush. It just wasn't turned into a federal case, as there are much more important issues to address.

I believe in the liberal democratic views because I believe that they represent what is best for our country. Why is it that just because I have a different opinion on what would be best, then I don't love my country?
Give me an example to back up your claims that liberals are not loyal to the country. You can't just throw a very general stereo type out there and expect a specific, intelligent answer.
Give me a specific question, and I will do my best to answer it.

No. I don't think they are more loyal to a party than their own country. They criticize because they care and see that positive change is possible. Anyhow, they are plenty of conservatives who harshly criticize the way certain things are done, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they dislike America, does it?

I think liberals and conservatives both share a commitment to making America better. They just have different approaches and ideals, which in itself is great thing, because politicians should represent everyone--conservatives and liberals alike.

As a liberal...

--I am not 100% loyal to the Democratic Party, they do plenty of things wrong...such as their stance on immigration.
--I am not 100% loyal to the country, yes, even the mighty USA can do wrong things...but I do desperately want to be that loyal to the country.
--I am 100% loyal to the people living in this country, I want only the best for them and I do not think that what is currently the state of the country is the best possible thing for America.

I am not surprised that you were not satisfied with the answer you got from your liberal associate. You clearly would have gone into the conversation expecting to not be satisfied, as I am sure that I would if I asked you why it is okay for thousands of American men and women to die in a needless war based on shoddy, at best, evidence.

This quote by Carl Sagan explains my answer to your question...

"I also wish that the Pledge of Allegiance were directed at the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, as it is when the President takes his oath of office, rather than to the flag and the nation."

Good question. To me this is very obviously true. You can go back a few years to the present day and if nothing else the libs are consistent in their quest for getting their power back. And they use any means possible be it half truths or out and out lies. They don't seem to have any respect for our military, and if it takes putting them and we at home in even more Pearl by leaking secrets to our enemy via the media then so be it the ends justify the means. After all it is their birth right to run this country. They know what we need more then we do. How dare anyone be richer than someone else. I could go on and on. I just hope the silent majority again comes to the polls and does the right thing.

I'm a liberal and I'mmore loyal to country than to party. So much so, that I gave 10+ years to defend the Constitution. Which Bush has forgotten that he swore to uphold.

What's funny about what you wrote, is that I have had "arguments" with conservatives and not once did they actually address any of the issues I brought up. Instead, from email 1, I get personal attacks and insults.

Liberals don't know what loyalty is. They have turned their backs on this country and spit In the faces of its defenders all for the sake of their own greed and twisted Ideology They burn are flag and and despise all that makes the united states they greatest country in the world and they seek to destroy it and this saddens me but it also make me angry because divide we fall they time for debate is over

Neither party is good for America because they are both selling us out, Democrats tax us to death, and Reps, run the debt up so high we can never pay it off. They both suck. And the only reason the Dems voted out Lieberman is because he is not liberal enough to them and he stood by President bush, the rest of the liberal voted also with Bush but now they have their tail between their legs running away from their obligation, about the war. and they are both selling us out over the immigration problem.

There's a liberal party?
At any rate, you're misled. We do not loathe this country or it's people at all. We loathe what it has become in recent years. This IS a broken country - hate groups, unbelieveable crime rate, a President who commits crimes himself everyday, Conservatives who tell us we're traitors and unpatriotic, people starving in the streets - why people want to come here I'll never understand. What good is freedom if you're not allowed to use it?

If by that you mean liberals are loyal to an ideology and they want America remade according to that ideology, regardless of who and how many oppose them, then the answer to your question is yes. Many conservatives want that too, unfortunately.

I think they are as loyal as the republicans are to their country. Some people want it their way and you can't tell them otherwise........my issues with the Democrats are that I have no idea what their platform is....what do they stand for?....in addition, they are morally out of touch with the silent majority. To dems, it's all about yourself....forget about the family and family values. My issue with the Republicans is that they have no idea of what alot of middle class people go through everyday. They think everything will be fine but it isn't when you need two jobs to pay the bills. Not everyone is an entrepreneur. That is why the most loyal to the country are the independents! hehe
