i have 2 red eared sliders one of which seems to be much older and the other day he seemed to be choking, he was sitting on his rock and he would swell his throat then open his mouth and knda cough which made this funny noise and his body kinda jerked when he did this, i took him out and tried to look in his mouth but couldnt really see anything and once i took him out he just stopped doing it i put him back in and he seemed alright but i still dont know what could have caused his little episode

It's like this, I've had the little red eared slider for 3 days, now. I dunno the gender, but that's not so important right now. It is now living in that small tank you get at the pet store. Since tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, I wont be at home, we will get him a new tank in 3 days. I still have to buy a UV lamp, but now it is under a regular lamp, and my house is REALLY warm, so it's not cold. I tried giving it food, but it doesn't even look at it. I dunno if he/she even knows that those little dry flys are supposed to be food. I am scared. I mean, 3 days without eating? He is really active and is trying to get out all the time. Please help me, I am soo worried
I hope this is enough info for your help, thanx

My friend owns a couple of terrapins and apparently, one had a growth on its neck recently, which my friend suspects is a tumour? Does anyone have any idea if it's really a tumor or not, and whether there is any remedy for such a issue? Below are 2 links to pictures of the terrapin in question:

I found a box turtle crossing the road last month and brought her home for a pet. She has a 100 gallon terrarium with all the fixings of home. She is eating well, we give her plenty of crickets, mealworms, snails and an array of fruits and veggies. The only problem is that she is insatiable. Is it possible to overfeed? How much should she eat and how often?

My red ear sliders have been eating the small gravel at the bottom of there tank lately and I recently found out that this can cause death so I obviously want to remove it fast. So when I do, what is a good thing to put in instead? I've heard that you can have nothing at the bottom because it will make the tank easier to clean but then I heard that they need some type or rocks or something at the bottom. Is there something that is good for red ear sliders to have?
Please only answer this if you have experience.

I have this CGD and the label says soy protein, calcium, D3, vitamins, electrolytes. Add 1/4 tsp powder to 1 tsp of peach baby food. Now my question is on the occasion that I feed my crested gecko crickets could I just dust them with the CGD.

I have had my ball python for about a month. He started out very active and lately he has become very inactive and i rarely ever see him. He is just laying around and his eyes are cloudy so i think he might be starting to shed, but he is never out rubbing his skin anymore and i've never seen him soak in his waterdish is this normal or could i have a problem here.

Ok so I went to my great uncle's house today and his son and stuff was putting stuff in a car. My mom noticed something that was off grass color and was all 'get it before it get's stepped on!' so I just put my hand down and the little baby lizzard walked onto my hand. He's in a jar right now... with a bunch of grass and there's a baby grasshopper in it. I have a turtle, so I have a tank that he grew out of so I'm thinking about transferring the lizzard into that tank. But I'v ebeen looking all over and I'm still confused... I have absolutely no idea how to take care of this thing X: He is... uhm.. I think maybe four-five inches max from head to tip of the tail. Would he eat mealworms? because that's what we have to give to my turtle... but yeah. Could someone tell me a good link, or explain the proper way to take care of it?

I have heard a lot of opinions on what substrate to use, but i have used soil before but it smells, and i heard that those husk bricks that you rinse in water stick to your salamander

Will my crested gecko drink from his water bowl. I know that they tend to lick droplets of leafs, but even though my humidity is around 76-80% I don't see any water droplets on the leaves.

I am looking into getting a corn snake, but I don't want to get one from Petco or something...I've never had luck with pet stores so I'd really rather just find a breeder or something. I don't even know how to begin looking - every search so far has turned up breeders far away and I would rather be able to go to the place and get my snake myself, not have it shipped! Does anyone know how to find a breeder somewhere close to me (my zip is 60915)? I can't seem to do it, maybe I'm not looking up the right info?

I have 2 three month old Red Eared Slider turtles and one of them seems to be eating the gravel in the tank a lot. I don't think that he does it because he is hungry because he will do this even right after he has been fed.
I don't think that its very good for them to do this, so is there something I can do to make him stop or is there something he is trying to do?

Im so so confused as what 2 feed my tortie,
The lady in the shop where i bought her from said fruit and veg, plenty of fruit everyday and lots of veg except lettuce.
Ive done lots of research on the web and it said fruit and veg should be given as treats - especially fruit!
Different websites say different things, im so confuddled :-(
At the moment shes eating kale, apple and cucumber, ive put carrot down and shes not so keen on that. She loves the kale!
Im also putting tortoise supplements on it aswell.
She seems fine, but am i feeding her the right thing??????
thanks
xXx
