I feed the squirrels in my area walnuts and various other nuts and they act ok but when I give them hazelnuts they go crazy and get very agressive towards each other and even agressive towards me if I don't keep giving them the hazelnuts. What is going on? Is there something in the nuts that cause this change of behavior?

When your walking your pets they tend to use the bathroom. So should you pick up the waste(feces) after your pets finish? Some people consider it littering but most of my neighbors just leave it there.

I had two fancy female mice together for several months. The dominant mouse died. A few days later, I got another female fancy mouse and introduced her in the habitat after throughally cleaning it. The older mouse who has always been submissive has been picking on the new little female. I don't know if I should let them work it out a day or two or if I should get the new mouse out. Is she in danger of being killed or is this bit of picking on normal?

I am disheartened by the statistics. I have a female marshall ferret. She just turned four on January 25th, 2007. I give shelby a yearly dose of lupron to prevent adrenal problems.Within a week of getting it, Shelby has deteriorated. I must feed her a solution of AD(nutritional meal) with a syringe to the back of her throat. She drinks water, but she still looks dehydrated so I must also use the syringe. We will see our closest and most competent vet (two and a half hours away)on Monday. Her vulva is not swollen but her appetite is gone, her stomach is concave, she isn't right.I already have a male ferret, Scud, that had a successful adrenal surgery with minor hurdles(prostate). I give him lupron every month. It is costly. I want to know if it is true about marshalls? I refuse to think I am losing her as she looks and acts fine. How many others have lost their babies and at what age? I don't want to know but I feel I have to.And, how do you do it?I am so lost at the thought. It isn't time.

I've noticed recently, that the horse i'm working with seems to always be stiff when i ride, or just when he's walking around. His owner takes him out 2-3 times a year and runs him around for hours at a time, and his owner is definatly not on the light side...I often am stuck caring for sore backs once his owner is done.
But, i was wondering, that my horse has really short strides, and long legs. I'm not sure if he's got arthritis, or just joint problems. But i was wondering if maybe i should put him on joint supplements for a month, see how that goes, and if it helps, should i continue it? I tried stretching him out before and after riding for a while, and it didn't seem to help. Anyone have any suggestions?

We live in the country and my dog found something very foul smelling, rolled in it and even after I have bathed him he kinda smells. I think he rolled in something dead out in the woods, this has not been pleasant and I really don't want him riding to the groomers in my car. He is not as bad as he was, but it is still there.I don't want to spray something harmful on him, but would like to have him smell better before I put him in my car to take him in for a proper bath, he is border collie and ausie so he is not a small dog. Any great formulas out there to help with the smell?

I have a pygmy goat which i adopted by a local animal shelter earlier in the week. I was told that her as well as all the other females hadn't been spayed and were accidentally mixed in with the un-neutered males. I was told that she was pregnant but they didn't quite know how far along she was. He stomache was pig around the sides but just recently the weight of the kids have moved underneither her belly. Her teets or whatever have a little bit of milk in them and her behavior changed. She has been so loveable and all when we had first gotten her but today when i came from home from school she didn't want to have anything to do with me or my parents. I've done most of the "tests" that my friends suggest, but i can't tell if she passes them or how much longer til she gives birth. Please if you have any comments or facts that would help let me know!
