i have this rabbit for the last 2 years. i dont know how old he is exactly since i found him back then. i figured he is now 3 to 4 years old. and the problem is that in the last 3 weeks, he has been shedding like crazy. i mean big time. i kind of predict its because of the odd warm weather here in italy, but im starting to think....

do all rabbits of these breed shed so so so much when the weather is like this?

i dont know what the name of this breed is, but you can see pics of him here:

http://new.photos.yahoo.com/slideshow?view=album&c=gmredin&albumID=576460762321819080&phdone=http%3A%2F%2Fnew.photos.yahoo.com%2Fgmredin%2Falbum%2F576460762321819080

just to give you an idea of how much he sheds, there are tumble weeds of his fur every single day inside the house. no matter how much i brush him and bath him daily it keeps on falling off and he isnt going bald or anything.

my question, has this happened to your rabbit? do certain rabbits naturally shed to the extreme likethis one?

A friend of a friend said that they had a wild rat in their house and one night they woke to feel the rat paw their face. They swear it is true but I don't believe it for a minute. Has anybody experienced this ever?

My mother has chickens in her pen.Something is getting in and biting the heads off and leaving the rest.Could this be a weasel? What ever it is it has teeth strong enough to bite thru wire.I always thought weasels ate the whole chicken but someone told her they just eat the head sometimes.

I can't decide whether to go for a mixed dry food (flakes, biccies, dryed veggy things) or go for a mono mix (one type of complete nutritional pellet). At the moment it's a decision between Gerty Guinea Pig and Supa Guinea pig.
I appreciate I'll have to gradually wean them off what ever the breeder was feeding them before they come to me, but which is best? Is it better to prevent against selective feeding with a single type feed or should I just worry about it if it happens?
Any suggestions for equally good or better dry feeds welcome.

(Please answer q rather than bang on about veggies, I have done my homework!)

Thanks :)

I have two large dogs and a new job that requires I be out of town 3 days per week, every week. The dogs have a pet door to go in and out to the backyard and I leave them plenty of food and water in the large dispensers. Still, I have a lot of anxiety about leaving them -- worrying that they may become ill, feel lonely or depressed. There are no pet sitters in this area and the few times I have boarded them they were quite despondent. I have thought about offering a college student free rent in exchange for simply being here with my animals. Am I being overly neurotic about the whole thing?

What's a good pet? I already have rabbits, fish and cats. I want something else. Any ideas? I can't decide.

I'm having a hard time thinking of a show name for my new mare. Her name is Parsnips, and being from the south I never new what a parsnip was until I met her. But I have no idea what to show her under. Yes I could just use her name, but I'd rather have something else. Here is her pedigree:

Lets see what you guys can come up with!

All the books say it's boredom or lack of food, but she does it also when she has just had a lot of exercise and play, and when she has plenty of hay in her cage (she loves hay). She has other toys and a chewing block, but she ignores those. The cage is large enough and she gets plenty of attention.

I am looking to man a stall and wondered what pet things you would buy from it if you came. I am making cat nip toys. Pet blankets. Handmade funny pet soaps. Breed plaques. Rescue dog poems framed. A pet calenda. Have you got any more ideas that you and your pet regulary use or like that I could make. Or any other fund raising ideas

I had two wonderful rats. They were great pets and an awesome addition to our family. They loved to ride on our shoulders and sample whatever we were eating! I'd love to have one again.
BUT...
One got tumors/cancer and died in less than a year, and the other eventually got tumors/cancer but lived 2+ years.
Are regular rats as sociable and as good of pets as fancy rats?
I just can't watch another fuzzy friend suffer like that.

with regards to fresh food. This includes protein, live food, vegetables, nuts and seeds, oats, fruit, dairy products, basically anything that is not a dry mix. I have looked and found tons of information on the web, but would like to know what people's personal experiences are. Please could you also put your breed of hamster and its age?? Thanks.
