I was wondering what the small skinks (about 5cm long) that are found in your backyard are called? They are like a greyish black/brown colour. Please help.

I used to live near a turkey farm. Whenever I walked by and made a noise like "ooh!", they would all go "gobblecluck". Then they would go silent and wait for me to talk again. Then they would talk back to me. I had lots of fun. Why do they do this?

I really want a winter white siberian(this was the kind of hamster my other one was) or a Roborovski. I dont really want to go to a breeder. I would rather go to a store.

Is there anything specific about the breeds i need to know?

Which one is better?

**I perfer hamsters over gerbils because i think they are cuter...LOL.

i have a 4 yr old chestnut german warmblood. she normal ( not liver) looking chestnut. she has a crooked blaze and two socks (one on her right front and one on her back.) i need some insight for show colors (2 colors) nothing with red in it. thanks a bunch!!!

She is registered AQHA and someday I would like to show or sell her to someone that will show her. This is a nice little mare but she already has a few scars and is in no perfect condition. Last Friday she laid down to roll and put her foot through our fence cutting her cannon bone and another spot on her heel bulb of her left hind leg. At that time about 3/4in of bone was visible. But on Tuesday morning when I last changed her dressing the bone was already covered with flesh again. Now - most people have told me to keep a firm wrap on the injuries to keep them clean and keep her from getting bad proud flesh (and that is what I had planned to do). But other people have told me that letting the injury get more air and dry out would be better for her.
I will be changing the dressing this evening - cleaning with betadine, applying a little nitrofurozone, a light non-stick guaze pad, and vetrap. Should I try not wrapping it? Im scared its too wet still and it will get dirty.

I will be buying 2 rats next week. i have been on the internet looking at how to keep rats but im still unsure on what bedding ect to put in the cage. Somewhere said shredded paper, but wont that cut their feet. Another place said put kitty litter on the bottom of the cage as pine and cedar wood shaving is toxic. It that correct?
Any info on what i should use would be helpful.

Give examples, my two chihuahuas are hilarious when they interact with us or each other. They do the weirdest things we just laugh at. For example, they stare each other down and then act like bulls and stamp the ground and scrape the carpet (or dirt if we are walking them.)

i brought my female drawf hamster in petlad discount with everything. i noticed that her left paw was a little swollen and with a few cuts but it had some scabs so i figured that it was getting better cause when you cut skin it gets better while it scabs she runs fine walks fine eats with it normaly so i guess it will get better, but im not sure did this ever happen to ur hamster did it get better?
