I want to get a ferret, but i dont want to buy one from a pet store and there are none at the local animal shelter. I was wondering if anyone near Eau Claire WI had one for sale.

Ferrets are excessive maintenance pets requiring 4 hours or extra exterior the cage play time. I even have owned ferrets extra advantageous than twenty years and seen many overlooked. suitable cared for, ferrets stay to ten to fourteen years. yet as a results of ignore and undesirable foodstuff plan maximum stay decrease than 5 years. i pick to propose no longer getting a ferret as a commonplace puppy. They take different time.

Before you purchase a ferret, I would suggest you do thorough research on them first. Taking care of ferrets is costly and not an easy task. If you don't have the money to purchase one then I would suggest looking into getting a kitten or something a bit more easier. Ferrets are very sensitive creatures and they need constant looking after. Their food is very expensive and not only food is required but things such as fur ball remedy and vitamin supplements. An if you were to ever have an emergency situation, it would be extremely costly, but if you have no problems with this then go for it! I wish you the best! My advice simply comes from experience. I myself have ferrets :).

Look nearby- here in West Bend, the humane society gets them in each month. If you ask to be on a list, they will call you. Check all large cities around you for animal shelters. Although I'm not against buying ferrets because in a way you are saving them- Marshall ships tons of ferrets to science labs for cruel research- so the petstore ones are already saved:)

I know you DIDN'T want to hear this....but try Pet Smart. They already vaccinate the ferret and they are in excellent heath. That's where I bought mine, he's two years old and as active as he was when I first brought him home.
I DID try going the way of a farm raised animal. No way again. There was no guarantee the ferret wouldn't drop dead in a week, no shots record...no anything. At least at the store you can get that info....I even have his birthday

They can Do a search online. Be sure to understand that they are suseptible to certain Diseases and conditions as they get older. The food isn't All that expensive as they don't eat alot. Chocolate can Kill them.
