when it comes to breeding, do animals know they are related?

i have to siblings i just took back from my ex..male and female , she is in heat ....and i dont know if he has gotten to her, or if they know and i should just let them be, they grew up together from day one and he is getting cut on thurday. just need to know if they know they are related or even care.

I don't know if animals realize they are related...but that knowledge, whether there or not, will not prevent them from breeding. Keep them apart until all parties are spayed or neutered!

Animals do not care if they are related. Instinct takes over when the female is in heat.
