Ok, I have a tank with 5 fish in it- a regular gold fish, a popeyed gold fish, a bottomfeeder and 2 silver/white Mollie.
It's a 25-gallon tank, and the water is the correct temperature(81 degrees Fareinheit),
But, just today, the popeye goldfish got this odd, white, filmy stuff covering his tail, and got weird bumps. The two Mollies got these weird, orangey-yellow cyst-like things near their gills and eyes. The Bottom Feeder and Goldfish are normal, and both the Mollies seem ok other than the weird cysts, but the Popeye Fish is dying, or so he seems.
Any idea of what this could be? Is it contagious? Can we save our fish? Please help!

So i have had a marble molly and a mickey mouse platy living happily together in a 10 gallon for 8 weeks and today decided to add in a silver lyretail molly to add some color variation. the second i put him in, the marble molly started ramming and charging at the lyretail. I have put the marble by himself in a bredding tank for the moment. What happened to mollies being peaceful?

I have a 37 gallon saltwater reef tank. It's been up for a little Liover a year now it alwasy seems to be low. the RO water I use has a 7.0 ph and I either add the instant ocean which will bring the ph to 8.3 or if I'm just topping off, I will buffer with the "reef builder" which I know can raise alk. Corals and fish look GREAT!!!!!

~BUT~
I have noticed that my corals are NOT multiplying. like my zoas are popping new polyps like other peoples tanks,

tank stats:
water volume: 32gallons
LIVE rock: 65 lbs
live sand 45lbs
Temps 77-80
salinity 1.024/1.025
ammonia 0
nitrate 0
nitrite 10
ph 7.5
phosphates 0
calcium 440
mag: 1330
alk 9

Running one 175 watt 14k halide, 4 22watt t5's, a coralife superskimmer 125 and ALOT of powerhead flow! I am pushing about 1000gph and that is turning my entire tank volume over 35x an hour. Just recently added all that flow.

Any ideas?

We have a 30 gallon tank with two adult cichlids in it, and today we discovered that there were about 30 babies swimming around! Since we didn't know if they would eat them or not, we put them into a fry holder (it's a plastic container that floats in the tank with vents in the side to let fresh water through). Then we did some research and learned that we most likely have convict cichlids (based on the photos) and that they are excellent parents. Since it's been about 5 hours since the babies have been separated from the parents, is it okay for us to add the babies back to the tank? Or should we keep them separate from now on?

We've had these fish for easily 5 or 6 years and have never experienced this before!

I have a planted fish tank (15 gallons) and it seems that the hood that came with it isnt powerful enough for the plants. (15watts) So I wanted to add some extra lamps that I have lying around my house but these arent specially made for fish tanks.

My tank is 24" wide and I cant find hoods that can house 2 or more flourescent lamps.

My boyfriend recently bought me a 1 gallon tank. I thought it was generally a big tank for a gold fish, so i went to the pet store to look around. I saw that neon tetras were small and generally swim in groups. I thought it would be a cool idea to get like 5 or so tetras. But now im told that a 1 gallon tank should have only 1 fish. Does anyone know a type of fish that i can get more than 1 to put in my 1 gallon tank?

I've had my white clouds for almost a week, and for some reason, they will only stay in the top inch of the tank (never going any lower), and I don't understand why. What could possibly be going on?

All the random stats I can think of about the tank:

It's a 2.5 gallon tank with 3 white clouds, a betta, and a snail. I realize that is a bit of an overload, but it's only temporary until I can get them to college next week. Tank has no filtration (not allowed where I'm going to college), but I change 75% of the water every two days. Water pH is around 7.4. Temperature about 75 degrees F. Ammonia level has never gone above .25 ppm.

I've never seen the betta harass the white clouds (I watched them for an hour straight when I first got them to make sure they'd get along), but I've also never seen them leave the top inch. The betta is the only thing I can think of though.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Our goldfish is starting to hate the flakes we feed him and we're looking for home remedies such as earthworms. I know they can have frozen bloodworms but what about regular everyday earthworms?

I set up a 2.5 gallon tank 4-5 days ago with dechlorinated tap water & put in some fish food to start the cycle. Yesterday I picked out my betta. I took him home, rinsed the gravel, & put it in with a small decoration & 2 small potted plants (one is a broadleaf anubias, the other didn't have a label). I floated his cup for about 10 minutes then put him in. He seems happy but no bubbles; he stays at the surface of the water (no gasping though). I fed him a few dried bloodworms this morning which he gobbled up. The water is still a little cloudy from cycling.

1. Is the setup OK? Why does he stay at the top? There's no filter or heater but the temp is 74 and I plan to do partial water changes.
3. If I get a tiny snail will my fish eat it in this small tank? Will the snail eat my plants?
4. Can I leave the plants potted?
5. Is it bad to only feed bloodworms?
6. Did I wait long enough before putting him in?
7. I'm nervous that when I change the water he will try to jump out.

We just set up a 55 gallon tank that has fish and plants. The fish had fin rot, which is cleared up now. But the pH level will not go down. We have tried "Correct pH" and "Start Right" made from Jungle. The plants are turning yellow (even after putting plant food in the tank) and decaying. Any suggestions to what we need to do next?
